Patrick Sharp stated Sunday that he would consider playing in Europe if the NHL lockout extends into the season.
Sharp stated "If that needs to be an option, certainly", giving the impression that his preference is definitely to play in the NHL, but that he's willing to explore opportunities across the Atlantic in the face of an extended work stoppage. Teammates Dave Bolland and Jamal Mayers echoed Sharp's comments when asked the same question.
