Although there's still a lot of time until the 2014 Winter Olympics, Cory Schneider certainly has an opportunity to secure a spot with Team USA.
Schneider's chances of making the squad are completely dependent on if he gets a chance to serve as a starting goaltender before then and how he handles himself when/if that happens. The common perception is that the Vancouver Canucks will trade Roberto Luongo over the summer and go with Schneider as their starting goaltender, but we're now in August and that still hasn't happened. It's also worth noting that it's entirely possible that the NHL won't participate in the Olympics at all. Still, the fact that Schneider is already being speculated about highlights his potential should he finally get a chance to serve as a starter.
