IN THE SLOT

Yesterday's games concluded the NHL's regular season. The playoffs will begin on April 11.

We will shortly have an analysis of each of the first round playoff series available to you, which players to definitely keep, sleepers, and which team we project to win the series.

Ramifications from yesterday's games:

The Vancouver 3-0 shutout over Edmonton gave them the President's Trophy and home ice as long as they remain in the playoffs. Roberto Luongo was sharp, and will be the Canucks starter to begin the playoffs. It will be interesting to see how much leash the coach will give him with Cory Schneider ready as backup.

The Los Angeles Kings 3-2 loss to San Jose dropped them all the way to the eighth seed in the Western Conference, so they will play Vancouver in the first round. Dan Boyle had 2 goals, and won the game in OT.
