Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli envisions Loui Eriksson playing on the top line if he cannot re-sign Jarome Iginla. No harm in figuring out the contingency plans now. Eriksson is an excellent two-way player who is plenty talented to play on the first line, despite scoring just 10 goals and recording 37 points in 61 games last season. "I have to hedge in case we don't sign Jarome," Chiarelli said. "I have no problem if we have to put Loui on that top line. He's played on top lines before and he's played with the Sedins in the Olympics, and he was terrific. He's better suited for an upper line. If that's what we have to do then we'll do it. I'm trying to be patient with this because I really feel at one point there's going to be a player that will fit, and want to come here." Eriksson has scored at least 26 goals in four seasons, and he's been a 70-plus-point player in three. He could bounce back in a big way next season.
