The Toronto Sun is reporting that the Toronto Maple Leafs are one of at least six teams interested in acquiring Joe Thornton from the Sharks. The Sun does not speculate as to who the other teams are but say the Maple Leafs have been kicking the tires on the 35-year-old center. Thornton is still a tremendous play maker and has three years remaining with a $6.75 million cap hit. He also has a no-trade contract but grew up a couple of hours from Toronto so that could be a factor.
