MacDonald will require six weeks of rehab for the broken hand he suffered in Wednesday's win over the Blackhawks, Frank Seravalli of the Philadelphia Daily News reports. The injury ends a miserable campaign for MacDonald, who supplied only 12 points and a minus-5 rating over 58 games while noticing a steep drop in ice time from a season earlier. With five years and $25 million still remaining on the massive extension MacDonald inked last April, the Flyers are undoubtedly expressing some buyer's remorse. MacDonald should enter the 2015-16 season at full health and with much to prove.
