Elias (back) was able to skate on his own Friday, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports. Elias hasn't practiced with the Devils since suffering the injury last week, missing the team's last three games as a result. However, that didn't prevent GM Lou Lamoriello from ruling Elias out for Saturday's game against the Islanders. The team will likely check back in on Elias' condition in the morning before reaching a decision on his status for the game.
