Wheeler (knee) was placed on injured reserve Thursday. The Jets had already ruled Wheeler out for Thursday's game against the Blues, so the move to IR doesn't change his situation much. He's still viewed as day-to-day in advance of Sunday's game against the Kings, but will probably need to get back on the ice for practice within the next couple of days to have a realistic shot at playing.
