Gustavsson (shoulder) practice Monday, and he may be activated from injured reserve within the next few days, The Detroit News reports. Gustavsson won't be back for Tuesday's game against the Panthers, but he may stand a chance to return for Thursday's contest in Tampa Bay. He seems to be a couple of weeks ahead of Jimmy Howard (groin), which means the Red Wings don't need to make an immediate decision on whether Gustavsson or Peter Mrazek will serve as Howard's top backup down the stretch. It's also unclear how the playing time will be split between Mrazek and Gustavsson until Howard returns.
