Ovechkin scored his first power-play goal since Nov. 26 in Tuesday's loss to the Rangers. He went minus-1 in the game, but put six shots on goal and laid out eight hits. Despite heavy power-play time, this season has been anything but a repeat of last year, when Ovi set a career high with 24 power-play goals. He has just seven in 34 games this season, a far shorter pace. But the bright side of that has been that he hasn't been contending for the league's worst plus-minus, as Ovechkin owns a neat plus-5 for the season. But with just 28 points in 34 games, he's on the second-worst scoring pace of his career.
