Redskins CB Richard Crawford is expected to get a shot at nickel duties in 2013.

Crawford, a 2012 seventh-round pick out of SMU, appeared in ten games as a rookie, making 18 tackles and picking off one pass. Washington gave him a shot early on in the year, but he then went on to play just five snaps from Week 6 to Week 15. With veteran Cedric Griffin set for free agency, Crawford is the next man up behind starters DeAngelo Hall and Josh Wilson.

Redskins signed seventh-round CB Richard Crawford to a four-year contract.

The 213th pick in the draft, Crawford goes 5-foot-11, 191 and earned All-CUSA accolades for his work as both a punt returner and corner under June Jones at SMU. He'll compete in training camp for Washington's No. 5 cornerback spot.
