Free agent T.J. Houshmandzadeh has no plans to formally retire.

"I do want to play," Houshmandzadeh said. "I'm working out and training to be ready. If I do play, great. If not, that's why I'm doing things of this nature." The "things of this nature" he's referring to is satellite radio. Housh hasn't drawn any interest since the beginning of free agency, and was greeted by a similarly chilly market last season before being bailed out by old friends Hue Jackson and Carson Palmer. He's likely played his final snap.

Free agent WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh admits that if he doesn't sign somewhere by late September, his NFL career is likely over.

Houshmandzadeh spent most of last season on the street before old friend Hue Jackson picked him up in Oakland. He'll be 35 on September 26 and already has his sights set on a broadcasting gig. "We'll get this first week of free agency done and then we'll see what happens, but I'm not going to wait as long as last year," Houshmandzadeh said.

Free agent T.J. Houshmandzadeh hopes to play in 2012.

Were it not for former Raiders coach Hue Jackson's charity, Houshmandzadeh likely would have gone unsigned in 2011. Going into his age-35 season, Housh says he "just wants to play for a team that has a chance of winning." A shell of his former self, Housh will be lucky to draw any interest.

The Raiders are not expected to bring back free agent T.J. Houshmandzadeh.

Housh may be a favorite of Carson Palmer, but he was only signed last year because Hue Jackson was running the show in the front office. Now that Reggie McKenzie has taken over, beat writer Steve Corkran jokingly suggests Houshmandzadeh is "getting his nails done with Hue."

T.J. Houshmandzadeh scored a 40-yard touchdown on his one and only catch in Sunday's loss to the Dolphins.

The score broke up the Dolphins' 34-0 shutout in the fourth quarter and occurred on a busted coverage. Needless to say, there is no reason to attribute future results to Housh's meaningless, fluky catch.

T.J. Houshmandzadeh was held without a reception in Week 11.

He was not targeted against the Vikings, playing behind Denarius Moore, Darrius Heyward-Bey, and Chaz Schilens. Feel free to drop Housh in all leagues.

T.J. Houshmandzadeh and Louis Murphy split third receiver duties after Jacoby Ford left with foot injury Thursday night.

Housh came on as Ford's immediate replacement, but he saw 17 snaps to Murphy's 18 and Chaz Schilens' nine. While Carson Palmer has breathed plenty of life into Oakland's aerial attack, Denarius Moore is the only receiver with fantasy value as long as Ford is out.
