Martin was waived by the Lions on Monday, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Heading into the Lions' preseason finale, it was clear that Martin was on the outside looking in for a roster spot, so Detroit decided to cut bait with him early in order to open up more snaps for potential practice squad candidates at receiver during the last week of training camp. After appearing in just one game with the 49ers in 2016 and not making much of an impact in his previous four NFL seasons with the Patriots and Texans, Martin seems likely to go unclaimed off waivers and become a free agent.

EDGE Analysis
Martin, who played college ball at Michigan State, returns to his home state after spending last season with the Patriots. In nine games with New England he recorded 24 receptions for 269 yards and two touchdowns.

EDGE Analysis
Martin appeared in just one game for the 49ers this season but was limited to only kickoff return duties. He was replaced on the roster by fellow receiver Chris Harper.

Martin signed a two-year contract with San Francisco on Tuesday, Matt Barrows of The Sacramento Bee reports.
EDGE Analysis
Released by the Patriots at final roster cuts, Martin now landed with a team that has far less talent at his position. He's still more likely to have a role in the return game than on offense, at least for the immediate future. Martin could replace Jeremy Kerley as the top punt returner.

Martin was released by the Patriots, Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Patriots opted to keep Chris Hogan and Malcom Mitchell instead of Martin, who was acquired by New England in a trade from Houston in 2015.

Martin limped off early in the fourth quarter of Thursday's preseason finale against the Giants with an unspecified injury, ESPN's Mike Reiss reports.
EDGE Analysis
Prior to his exit from the contest, Martin caught two passes on four targets for 16 yards and a TD. He's fighting for a depth wideout slot on the Patriots' 53-man roster and if Martin's injury is anything of note, it could boost Aaron Dobson's chances of sticking.

Martin (undisclosed) is in uniform and will play Friday against the Panthers, Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Martin was inked to a new deal in January, but he hasn't gotten on the field to this point in the preseason due to an undisclosed injury. Fortunately, he looks to be a full-go for Friday's showdown in Carolina. Martin figures to see some run as a reserve receiver Friday and he'll likely get some chances in the return game as well.

Martin (undisclosed injury) participated in individual drills Monday, ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
With roster cuts looming, Martin needs to get back on the field sooner rather than later, but at this stage, we still like his chances of sticking as the Patriots' No. 4 or No 5 wideout, given his versatility and special teams utility.

Martin (undisclosed injury) did not play in Thursday's preseason game against the Bears.
EDGE Analysis
Martin sat this one out after having been limited at practice of late, but he still has a solid shot to make the Patriots' final roster as a depth wideout. He's battling with the likes of Aaron Dobson, Nate Washington, DeAndre Carter, Chris Harper and Devin Lucien for slotting on that front.

Martin has signed a two-year, $3 million contract extension with the Patriots, ESPM.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Martin, who finished the 2015 regular season with 24 catches for 269 yards and two TDs in nine games for the Patriots after being acquired in a Sept. 17 trade with the Texans, will thus continue to provide the team with wideout depth next year. Heading into the upcoming offseason, Julian Edelman, Brandon LaFell and Danny Amendola will all also be under contract with the Patriots in 2016, which probably puts Martin an injury or a personnel move away from fantasy relevance next season.
