Evan Royster rushed twice for nine yards in Washington's Week 17 win over the Cowboys.

Alfred Morris' handcuff and Washington's usual third-down back, Royster will finish 2012 with just 23 rushes for 88 yards. He added 15 catches for 109 yards. With Morris now established as one of the league's top backs, Royster's Dynasty league value is hazy bordering on nonexistent.

We offer a quick look back on the 2012 season by presenting a team of players that were not selected on draft day but enjoyed a high level of fantasy success. The list includes players that emerged at various points during the season and performed at a high enough level to be fantasy starters. Some of the most proficient players on this list emerged after the midway point of the season, proof that checking the waiver wire is crucial during the entire fantasy campaign.

This will be the final installment of this year's "Waiver Wire" series, it has been my pleasure to put pen to paper, or more appropriately, finger to keyboard. Thank you for reading all season!

Quarterback

Russell Wilson, Seattle

While fellow rookies Robert Griffin III and Andrew Luck got most of the headlines, Wilson has performed at a level just under those two players all season. His elevation to being the starter for the Seahawks was not solidified until just before the opening game of the regular season, which kept most fantasy owners away on draft day. His battle with Matt Flynn went down to the wire. Though he did outplay Flynn, it was Flynn's injury late in the preseason that created a chance for Wilson to get onto the field. After a slow start, Wilson's success got on solid ground during a Week 8 matchup against the Detroit Lions where he threw for 236 yards and a pair of touchdowns. That game kicked off a stretch where he averaged more than 200 yards and two touchdowns per game. Those that were lucky enough to start him in Week 15 also enjoyed three touchdown scores on the ground. Through 16 weeks, Wilson is one of the Top 15 fantasy quarterbacks and will surely be heard from again as a solid fantasy player in 2014.

Colin Kaepernick, San Francisco

After getting some scattered spot duty in relief of an injured Alex Smith, coach Jim Harbaugh made a bold move midseason, elevating Kaepernick to starter over a healthy Smith. This was quite a statement, given that Kaepernick struggled in the preseason to nail down the position of QB2 on the 49ers depth chart. Kaepernick got the start against the Chicago Bears on Monday night in Week 11 and he did not disappoint, throwing for 243 yards and two touchdowns. His running ability was an added bonus; on weeks when he was not passing for 200-plus yards he was running for 50-plus yards and scoring on the ground. His best game was at New England during Week 15 where he threw for four touchdowns. San Francisco is already talking...

Evan Royster (knee) is practicing in full this week.

Royster was limited in practice the past two weeks, but has yet to miss a game. He'll serve in his typical third-down role against the Vikings.

Initially built by NASA to set lines for the Las Vegas casinos in the late 50's (who do you think funded the Apollo missions? The government? It was the mob...), The Sin City Betbot 6000 calculated lines for over 30 years. The Betbot was given various upgrades through the years, not always with the best equipment, but he was very good at setting lines, and living the good life.

The Betbot was de-commissioned in 1990 after San Francisco destroyed Denver in the Super Bowl. The 45 point spread simply fried a number of the Betbot's wires and he retired. The Betbot was discovered by Fantasysharks.com and retooled to give fantasy advice. He lives now to give his own unique, well cultured take on the NFL.The Sin City Betbot 6000 Presents is transcribed by Joe Petrizzi and Tom Walls because "typing.. .BZZT... is a dame's job".

My first encounter with Jimmy Hoffa was late 1962, I was being reconditioned at a General Motors plant in Flint, MI. Jimmy was there negotiating a new contract with the brass there. I instantly...BZT... recognized a smart, charismatic man who wouldn't take no for an answer. Lots of moxie, and those are qualities I respect.

It wasn't easy being friendly with Hoffa, especially given my friendship with Jack Kennedy . I stayed neutral and remained friends with both men.

Hoffa represented working men in a time when working men were being trampled by corporations. I respected the work he did for the working man. He employed tough tactics because they were necessary. I can't really call the NFLRA a true union. NFL referees are by-and-large men who are very successful in their chosen professions. These negotiations weren't about life and death; they were rich men fighting for more icing on their...BZZZT...cakes. I can't equate what the referees wanted with what working men were struggling for a couple decades back. Still, the referees are back, and screwing calls up to a somewhat lesser degree than the ‘scab' refs. The best thing about the situation is we can stop hearing about it now - the NFL referees are all richer than you, and they thank you for making them richer still by giving them attention. They are still better than the MLB umpires, though, who are legitimately incompetent and work with even greater impunity.

NFC NOTES -- After watching the Thursday game, I have no earthly idea how the Cardinals started 4-0 with Kevin Kolb playing behind that offensive line. It's not just the schedule, either - they played good...

Evan Royster (knee, questionable) was limited in Redskins practice Friday.

Royster was listed as probable in Week 4 after going through the same week-long practice routine, so this is a downgrade. He still seems likely to be available behind Alfred Morris for Sunday's game against the Falcons.

Redskins RB Evan Royster (knee) was limited again in Thursday's practice.

Royster is expected to be fine to back up Alfred Morris on Sunday versus the Falcons.

Evan Royster (knee) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

The Redskins are just managing Royster's reps after he escaped Sunday's win without further injury. He'll be in line for third-down snaps against Atlanta, but off the fantasy radar behind workhorse Alfred Morris.
