Roy Helu RB WAS 5 Months

Roy Helu rushed three times for 39 yards and added three catches for 11 yards in Sunday's Week 11 loss at Philadelphia.

Helu broke off an explosive 24-yard run with the Redskins in all-out comeback mode, but was quiet once again otherwise. He's just not going to get any base carries with Alfred Morris playing so well. Helu has had six or fewer touches in four straight games.

Roy Helu rushed twice for eight yards in Washington's Week 8 loss to the Vikings, adding three catches for 23 yards.

Helu got a carry at the Vikings' eight-yard line, but couldn't turn it into his fourth touchdown of the season. Limited to 85 total yards since his three-score outburst in Week 6, Helu remains a pure handcuff for re-draft league purposes.

Roy Helu rushed five times for 11 yards in Washington's Week 8 loss to the Broncos, adding one catch for 14 yards.

One week after vulturing three touchdowns, Helu got out-touched 17-6 by Alfred Morris, and out-gained 93-25. Morris scored the Redskins' lone rushing touchdown. Helu still has some appeal as an RB3/4 in PPR leagues, but is a low-end FLEX option in standard formats.

The Redskins' Week 7 gameplan called for more of the "turbo" package.

Roy Helu rushed 11 times for 41 yards with three touchdowns in Sunday's Week 7 win over the Bears.

We're not going to suggest that Helu is the Skins' new goal-line back because he's not. But they got going with the hurry-up and didn't substitute Helu out once inside the 10-yard line. The scores came from 14, 3 and 3 yards out. Helu won't have another game like this in terms of touchdowns, but he continues to earn a bigger and bigger role with impressive one-cut quickness. Over the last three games, he's averaging 12.3 touches for 69.0 yards per day. Helu will be on the deep-league flex radar against the Broncos in Week 8 because the Redskins project to be trailing. Helu is locked in as the passing-down back.

Roy Helu had six carries for 42 yards in Sunday night's Week 6 loss to the Cowboys.

Helu got the majority of yardage with the Redskins in comeback mode and was more of a factor in the passing game, adding four catches for 35 yards on six targets. He remains the preferred option on third downs and was even used as a receiver in some five-wide formations. Helu is one of the top fantasy stashes among backup running backs, but still isn't on the radar as a FLEX option in re-draft leagues.

Redskins OC Kyle Shanahan said he wants to get Roy Helu more involved on offense.

"I'd like to get Helu out there more," Shanahan said. However, the Redskins don't want Helu's increased work to come at Alfred Morris' expense. Morris is going to continue to carry a full load in the Washington backfield. Helu may get more looks on passing downs, but the best way to get him involved is to get a lead and burn clock. Helu is one of the better fantasy stashes among backup running backs. He's more than capable of carrying the load should Alf go down.

Roy Helu rushed 13 times for 41 yards and a touchdown, and caught two passes for 43 yards in Washington's Week 4 win over Oakland.

With Alfred Morris (ribs) shelved by a third-quarter injury, Helu took over as Washington's featured, every-down back. No other Redskins runner handled a carry outside of RG3. Helu ripped off physical runs in late-game clock-killing mode, including a 14-yard touchdown to put the game away. Helu has been one of our favorite bench stashes because he offers even more upside than Morris due to his passing-game role. Unfortunately for Helu owners, the Redskins have a Week 5 bye. It's unclear if Morris will be back for Week 6.

Roy Helu was held without a carry in Washington's Week 2 loss to the Packers, and caught just one pass for two yards.

That's despite the fact that the Redskins were behind all afternoon, which in theory would increase the need for their third-down back. Zero threat to starter Alfred Morris, Helu isn't worth more than a back-end bench spot in PPR leagues.
