Richard Gordon TE KC 4 Months
Gordon was released by the Chiefs on Sunday, the Kansas City Star reports.
Gordon was kept on as the fourth tight end, but was in a vulnerable position because of it. His spot was taken by Damion Square, who the Chiefs claimed off waivers.

Chiefs re-signed TE Richard Gordon to a one-year, $645,000 contract.
Gordon had been scheduled for restricted free agency, but the Chiefs were never going to tender him because doing so would've cost at least $1.389 million. So he'll return to compete for a roster spot at the NFL's minimum salary. A sort of tweener tight end/fullback, Gordon turns 27 in June. The former Raiders sixth-round pick has four receptions across 29 career games.

Chiefs signed TE Richard Gordon.
It's a sign Anthony Fasano (concussion, knee) is not expected back in time for Sunday's game against the Colts. TE Dominique Jones was placed on the NFI list Tuesday.

Steelers signed TE Richard Gordon.
Gordon will take the place of David Johnson, who landed on injured reserve with a wrist injury Tuesday. The 2011 sixth-round pick of the Raiders is nothing more than a No. 3 or 4 tight end.

Raiders waived or released TE Richard Gordon, S Reggie Smith, DL Ryan Baker, LB Billy Boyko, CB Chance Casey, RB Deonte Williams, OG Jason Foster, WR Greg Jenkins, TE Brian Leonhardt, OG Lamar Mady, K Justin Medlock, S Shelton Johnson, and DT Kurt Taufa'asau.
Who? Gordon was in the mix for the starting tight end job, but that was only because the Raiders have so little talent. After trimming the roster to 53, the Raiders have decided to keep four quarterbacks and two punters. Good luck.

Raiders OC Greg Olson says the team is trying to decide between Richard Gordon and Jeron Mastrud to be its starting tight end.
Giggle. With David Ausberry (shoulder) out indefinitely, the Raiders will resort to starting a player who likely wouldn't make 31 other rosters. "Richard Gordon and Jeron Mastrud, they're in the battle for the No. 1 spot," said Olson. "We like the emergence of our young tight ends (Mychal Rivera, Nick Kasa), but we'll really take a good hard look at Richard Gordon and Jeron Mastrud this week."

Raiders backup FB/TE Richard Gordon suffered a broken hand against the Patriots in Week 4.
Gordon played through the injury with Marcel Reece out last week, but he's not practicing this week. Reece remains sidelined as well, so the Raiders are reviewing their options. Michael Bush could move to a lead-blocking role, or Manase Tonga could be activated from the practice squad.

Raiders agreed to terms with sixth-round TE Richard Gordon on a four-year deal.
Gordon will fall in line behind Zach Miller (once he's re-signed) and Brandon Myers. There's not much upside here despite Gordon's 6'3/267 frame.
