Free agent Titus Young is "close" to a plea deal on the 11 charges he faces from his May 2013 crime spree.

Young is charged with four felonies, so he's likely facing jail time. Getting his myriad charges behind him would be the first step toward reviving his football career, though it's unclear if Young has any intention of returning to the gridiron. The troubled former second-round pick is still only 24 years old.

An arrest warrant has been issued for ex-Lions WR Titus Young after he missed a court appearance on Tuesday.

Sad. Young has been missing court appearances all summer, but the judge had allowed it because Young was receiving some sort of treatment. However, the judge mandated that Young show up Tuesday, and he didn't. Young is now headed to jail unless the sides can reach some sort of an agreement. Clearly not well, Young could be allowed to report to a medical facility.

Free agent Titus Young's lawyer says he's "still suffering from concussions."

Per Young's lawyer, he was excused from his second straight court appearance Tuesday as he continued to undergo "psychiatric evaluation and (treatment related) to concussions he suffered while playing football." It's yet to be determined if Young will be well enough to make his next court appearance. It appears the legal system believes Young was not of a sound mind when he went on his May crime spree.

Free agent Titus Young has been released from jail after posting bond.

Young spent 27 days in the Orange County Jail. He's still facing numerous charges, including drunk driving, burglary, and assaulting a police officer. Jail was probably the best thing for Young. His parents refused to bail him out because he was "anchored" there. Young's next court date is set for June 24.

Free agent Titus Young has been charged with trespassing and entering land with intent of interfering with lawful business.

Both are misdemeanors, and they stem from his early-May arrest in which he tried to steal his impounded car from a tow-company parking lot. Young is facing 10.5 years in prison after his string of arrests this offseason.

The NFL says it "reached out" to free agent Titus Young before his off-the-field meltdown, but that he declined help.

"It was someone very, very close to him who was just concerned - really concerned," said Troy Vincent, the league's director of player engagement. "We went to people very close to his center of influence, to reach out to see how we can support him. The response was of someone who is not open arms to being supported." People close to Young clearly saw his unhinged behavior coming, but it appears he declined any and all offers of help. Now Young is facing up to 10 years of prison on 11 different charges. It's a sad situation.

Three charges have been added to free agent Titus Young's Orange County Superior Court count, bringing the total to 11.

The new counts were undisclosed, but are related to Young's alleged May 11 burglary of a southern California home. His bail was upped from $25,000 to $50,000, as the judge deemed Young "a danger to the community." Young appeared in court Friday morning behind a protective cage, dressed in inmate orange. The judge asked him three questions and he didn't reply to any of them.

In addition to the eight pending charges he is facing, Titus Young has been accused of domestic violence by the mother of his 9-month-old son.

The woman has taken out a temporary restraining order, and is seeking a permanent one. "He would say things like, 'I understand why O.J. killed his wife,'" the woman alleged in a court filing. She also revealed that Young has been "clinically diagnosed with a mental disorder." Things are going to get worse before they get better for the troubled Young.

Free agent Titus Young has been medically cleared to appear in court, and has been charged with felony theft stemming from a May 4 incident at a convenience store in addition to his other charges.

It means Young has been charged with an incomprehensible eight crimes - including three felonies - in the past 10 days. It's a disturbing unraveling for a player who was always billed as a head-case but had previously avoided run-ins with the law during his NFL career. His only previous arrest was for minor in possession of alcohol during his college days. Clearly dealing with serious brain/mental issues, Young will hopefully get the help he needs.

Free agent Titus Young's father says his son has a brain disorder and needs help.

Ya think? Richard Young took Titus out for coffee on Friday morning, mere hours before Titus' latest arrest. Titus then drove off in his car without saying goodbye. "We knew that something had happened to him or he was locked up again," Richard said. "His mind is not capable enough to go out and deal with society because of this situation." Titus supposedly suffers from a disorder caused by his brain being compressed against the front of his skull, and he hasn't been taking his prescribed medication. Doctors told Richard that treatment could take six months or less. Maybe the sun will finally shine on Titus, and he can get the help he so badly needs.
