Jaguars released G Will Rackley.

Rackley, a 2011 third-round pick, was a disaster in his 11 starts at left guard last season. The Jaguars need his roster spot as they bring in third-round G/T Brandon Linder and a host of UDFAs.

Jaguars GM Dave Caldwell said the team only sees LG Will Rackley as a "swing guy."

Rackley, the 76th pick in the 2011 draft, has started 25-of-26 games he's appeared in at left guard but was thoroughly destroyed both as a run and pass blocker this past season. Caldwell says the team has given him some looks at center in practice, so he could be potential interior line depth. The Florida Times-Union considers left guard and center major areas of need for the Jaguars.

It's a sigh of relief for the Jags. On the first play of Saturday's preseason game against the Eagles, Rackley got rolled up on and went down in a heap.
