Carson Palmer QB ARI 9 Days
Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said Palmer was able to toss the ball lightly at Tuesday's practice and will attempt to throw on the side Wednesday, Alex Marvez of FOX Sports reports.
The Cardinals' bye week couldn't come at a better time for Palmer, who has been sidelined for the past two weeks after sustaining a shoulder injury in the season opener. Palmer will attempt to gradually attempt to increase his activity during his own workouts this week, before aiming for a return to practice in some capacity next Wednesday. His status for the Cardinals' Oct. 5 tilt with the Broncos still remains up in the air.

Palmer's right shoulder is improving, and he may begin throwing in the next week or two, Mike Jurecki of FOX Sports 910 Phoenix reports.
Time is required for Palmer's nerve issue to resolve itself, and luckily for him, he'll be afforded a free week to rehabilitate during the Cardinals' Week 4 bye. Meanwhile, on Sunday, his replacement, Drew Stanton, led a second consecutive win, completing 18-of-33 passes for 244 yards and two touchdowns. Stanton's intimate knowledge of coach Bruce Arians' offense has afforded a fluid transition from starter to backup, but Palmer remains the No. 1 quarterback, when healthy.

Palmer (shoulder) is inactive for Sunday's game against the 49ers, Mike Jurecki of FOX Sports 910 Phoenix reports.
Palmer last threw with gusto in Week 1, when he suffered a right shoulder injury. However, his subsequent attempts have been stifled by a nerve issue, which continues to ail him. In the meantime, Drew Stanton will face off against a 49ers defense that has yielded the most passing touchdowns (five, tied with three other teams) in the NFL.

Palmer (shoulder) won't start Sunday's game against San Francisco, but is listed as questionable.
The 'questionable' designation seems insincere, as Palmer definitely won't start the game and is fully expected to sit in its entirety. Palmer's absence hurts Michael Floyd and Larry Fitzgerald to a fairly significant extent.

Palmer has no timetable for a return, placing his availability Sunday against the 49ers in question, the Cardinals' official site reports. Regarding the nerve issue in his shoulder, he said, "I wish I had a concrete answer or somebody knew exactly what to do to wake it up, but that's not known. It's just time. The only answer is time, and I'm hoping it doesn't take any more time."
Palmer hopes to play in Week 3, but his availability is tied to the nerves in his right shoulder waking up. Meanwhile, his practice participation Wednesday was limited to footwork drills with backup quarterbacks Drew Stanton and Logan Thomas, as he has yet to throw since attempting to do so before Sunday's eventual win against the Giants. Expect Stanton to get the nod once again in Week 3, unless Palmer's recovery efforts finally allow him to throw effectively.

Palmer's fate for Sunday's game against the 49ers is contingent upon how quickly his shoulder improves, the Cardinals' official site reports. "I just have to stay on the rehab and hope [the nerve] wakes up," he said.
According to Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic, Palmer's shoulder wasn't close to healthy enough to allow him to take the field Sunday in New York. With an undetermined return date, the schedule lines up nicely for Palmer to rest in Week 3, as the Cardinals' bye week immediately follows the upcoming divisional showdown with San Francisco. If he takes a seat, Drew Stanton will again be under center, after a performance versus the Giants in which he limited his mistakes (zero turnovers and four sacks taken) en route to 14-of-29 passing for 167 yards and no touchdowns.

Palmer (shoulder) is inactive Sunday versus the Giants at New York, Mark Dalton of the Cardinals' official site reports.
After testing out his right shoulder in pregame warmups, Palmer was unable to fill his typical role effectively, thereby yielding snaps under center to Drew Stanton. Stanton will make his fifth career start, but first since Dec. 19, 2010 with the Lions.

Palmer (shoulder) will reportedly not play Sunday versus the Giants at New York, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
A 50-50 proposition to take the field due to "nerve issues" in his right shoulder, according to Mike Jurecki of FOX Sports 910 Phoenix, Palmer is expected to uphold his standard of no throwing this week by donning a headset and clipboard. If Palmer is indeed inactive, which will be confirmed in advance of Sunday's 1:00 PM ET kickoff, Drew Stanton will helm the Cardinals' offense in Week 2.

The Cardinals expect Palmer (shoulder) to play Sunday against the Giants, assuming his arm responds well pre-game, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.
Meanwhile, ESPN's Adam Schefter suggests that the QB may be more in the "50-50" range. In any case, we'll have confirmation of the status of Palmer, who is backed up by Drew Stanton -- one way or the other -- in advance of Sunday's 1:00 ET kickoff.

Palmer (shoulder) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Giants.
Palmer was listed as a limited practice participant all week, but he didn't throw the ball in front of media. He seems like he might be a game-time call for Sunday, which is a bit concerning for the stock of Michael Floyd and Larry Fitzgerald.
