Giants waived/injured TE Michael Palmer and CB Antonio Dennard.

Palmer just signed with the Giants last weekend after spending his first three seasons with the Falcons. Dennard spent all of 2012 on the Jaguars' practice squad. The Giants signed TE Morgan Newton in a corresponding move.

Giants signed TE Michael Palmer, formerly of the Falcons.

Palmer, 25, has appeared in 43 career games as a blocking tight end. An undrafted free agent in 2010, he spent the last three seasons in Atlanta. Palmer is a longshot for the Giants' 53-man roster.

Palmer went down during last week's win in San Diego. Blocker Tommy Gallarda is next up behind Tony Gonzalez, but practice squadder Chase Coffman could get the call.

Falcons agreed to terms with TE Michael Palmer and RB Antone Smith on undisclosed contracts.

Both were exclusive rights free agents. Palmer appeared in all 16 games last season, making 10 catches for 72 yards and a touchdown. Smith was active 12 times, but played primarily on special teams, receiving zero carries.
