Jets signed WR David Nelson to a two-year contract extension through 2015.

The financials are unknown, but it's a deserved deal for a 27-year-old wideout who has bounced back nicely from a torn ACL this season. Nelson has caught 31 passes for 357 yards and two touchdowns across 11 games (five starts). Ideally, Nelson will be the Jets' No. 4 receiver for 2014, but he could serve as the No. 3.

David Nelson caught four passes for 33 yards and two touchdowns in Week 16 against the Browns.

Nelson was targeted five times on the day, and the scores were his first two of the season. The former Brown beat Buster Skrine for one touchdown. He got the best of rookie Jordan Poyer for the other out a trips bunch. Nelson hasn't topped 44 yards in a game since October. He and the Jets will travel to Miami for the season finale. Nelson will work in on three-wide sets.

David Nelson caught three passes for 41 yards in the Jets' Week 15 loss to the Panthers.

Nelson played the slot in four-wide sets and was featured on third downs. All three of his catches came in the first-half and he was only targeted four times in the passing game. Nelson briefly exited in the second quarter and may have suffered an upper body injury. He'll remain off the fantasy radar for Week 16 against the Browns

David Nelson was held catch-less in the Jets' Week 12 loss to the Ravens.

Nelson was reportedly going to start against the Ravens over Stephen Hill, but Hill got the first-team nod instead. Regardless, no Jets receiver has legit fantasy value right now. They are playing in a four-man rotation with Jeremy Kerley (elbow) due back soon, and major problems at the quarterback position.

David Nelson is expected to replace Stephen Hill in the Jets starting lineup.

Hill, a size/speed freak the Jets traded up to nab with the 43rd overall pick in 2012, is losing his job to a former undrafted free agent coming off a torn ACL. Nelson won't have any fantasy upside as Geno Smith and the Jets' ground-n-pound scheme can barely support one wideout.

David Nelson was held to one catch for 12 yards in Week 11.

The Jets employed a deep receiver rotation against Buffalo, with Greg Salas scattered in amongst Nelson, Santonio Holmes, and Stephen Hill. It's not a good fantasy situation with New York struggling so much at quarterback. Geno Smith was benched for Matt Simms in the fourth quarter of Sunday's loss.

David Nelson (quadriceps) is listed as probable for Week 9.

Nelson was limited in Thursday and Friday's practices, but isn't in danger of missing Sunday's game. He's a sneaky desperation WR3 against the Saints.

Jets WR David Nelson was added to Thursday's injury report with a quad issue, getting in a limited session.

It would appear Nelson got hurt in Thursday's practice. Coming off back-to-back 80-yard games, Nelson's Week 9 status is now in question. That won't be the case if he's upgraded to full on Friday, however.

David Nelson caught four passes for 80 yards in New York's Week 7 win over the Patriots.

Nelson was the target on Geno Smith's pick six, but had two catches go for longer than 25 yards. Both the catches and yards more than doubled his previous 2013 totals. The nice afternoon should shore up Nelson's roster spot, but he remains a fantasy nonentity.
