Jim Cordle NYG 7 Days
The Giants will not tender C Jim Cordle as a restricted free agent.
Cordle will become an unrestricted free agent that the Giants could possibly re-sign at a lower rate. He'll have to prove he's recovered from his partially torn left patella tendon first. Meanwhile, the Giants will be working to completely overhaul an offensive line that has question marks across the board.

Giants placed C Jim Cordle on injured reserve with a partially torn left patella tendon, ending his season.
OG Stephen Goodin was promoted from the practice squad in a corresponding roster move. Cordle was already filling in for David Baas. Now the G-Men will likely shift LG Kevin Boothe to center, and stick James Brewer at left guard. That's what they did in Sunday's loss to the Cowboys. Cordle wasn't playing well, grading out as a bottom-eight center in Pro Football Focus' ratings. The fourth-year undrafted free agent will be a restricted free agent in the offseason.

Jim Cordle is now getting a chance to replace David Baas (knee) at center.
The Giants originally moved Kevin Boothe to center and inserted Justin Pugh at right tackle. But now that David Diehl (thumb) is out six weeks, the line looks like this: LT Will Beatty, LG Boothe, C Cordle, RG Chris Snee and RT Pugh. There's enough talent here for this unit to hold its own until Diehl and Baas return.
