Blount officially retired from the NFL on Saturday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
After nine years and seven different teams, Blount will end his professional football career. The 34-year-old finished with 1,495 carries for a total of 6,306 yards and 58 touchdowns. During Blount's 2016 campaign with the Patriots, the bruising ball carrier registered a whopping 18 touchdowns despite entering the season as an afterthought. The 2018 campaign was officially the last time the veteran saw an NFL snap, as he ended his career as a Lion.

Blount worked out for the Raiders on Wednesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Blount hasn't taken a snap since the 2018 season, when he played all 16 regular-season games for the Lions. It's unclear what sort of gig Blount could potentially fill in Oakland's backfield, which includes Josh Jacobs, Jalen Richard and DeAndre Washington, but the veteran has historically played a short-yardage/goal-line role.

Blount isn't expected to re-sign with Detroit before the start of the new league year in March, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Coming off a 2018 campaign in which he managed just 2.8 yards per carry, the 32-year-old running back likely will need to compete for a roster spot wherever he ends up. There's also some chance Blount could simply retire, as his age, recent production and lack of pass-game skills will make it difficult to land a contract for significantly more than the veteran's minimum. The Lions figure to go in a different direction in their search for backfield depth behind Kerryon Johnson (knee).

Blount rushed 11 times for 15 yards during Sunday's victory over Green Bay.
EDGE Analysis
A reliable yet underwhelming veteran presence is about all Blount has been for Detroit in 2018, and that reputation held true Sunday as the plodding runner failed to clear 2.0 yards per carry for the ninth time in 16 contests. Given how effective the 27-year-old Zach Zenner has been over the final four games of the season, it seems unlikely the 32-year-old Blount -- who will be an unrestricted free agent in March -- is high on Lions management's list of priorities to be re-signed this offseason. In fact, there may not be much of a market at all for an aging tailback who averaged just 2.8 yards per carry behind a strong offensive line that allowed Kerryon Johnson (knee) to average 5.4 YPC and Zenner 5.1 YPC.

Blount (knee) is active Sunday against Green Bay.
EDGE Analysis
Blount was limited in practice each day this week, but the knee issue won't prevent him from suiting up for the regular season finale. His workload is more of a question mark, however, as he's seen 22 or less offensive snaps in each of the last three weeks. Look for Blount to once again split time with the likes of Theo Riddick and Zach Zenner, which unquestionably limits his fantasy ceiling.

Blount (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game in Green Bay, Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
A limited participant throughout the week, Blount seems to be on track to play in the season finale, likely splitting work with Zach Zenner and Theo Riddick. The three-way timeshare doesn't present much upside for fantasy purposes, but it would at least become somewhat interesting if the Lions were to place Blount on their inactive list prior to Sunday's 1:00 p.m. EST kickoff.

Blount (knee) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Blount was limited for the Lions' final two practices of Week 16 before suiting up in Sunday's 27-9 loss to the Vikings and finishing with 29 yards on 11 carries and minus-5 yards on two receptions. There weren't any reports coming out of the contest suggesting that he aggravated the knee, so his limitations so far this week may just be precautionary. It's generally expected that Blount will be ready to go for a matchup with the Packers this weekend, though he may rank as the secondary rushing option behind Zach Zenner.

Blount (knee) was a limited participant at Wednesday's practice.
EDGE Analysis
Listed with a calf injury last week, Blount ultimately took 13 touches for 24 yards in Sunday's 27-9 loss to the Vikings. He was once again outplayed by Zach Zenner, who turned eight carries into 45 yards. The Lions figure to deploy a backfield committee Week 17 against the Packers.

Blount (calf) rushed 11 times for 29 yards while catching two of four targets for minus-5 yards in Sunday's 27-9 loss to the Vikings.
EDGE Analysis
Blount's 13 touches led all Lions running backs, but he was stuck in low gear throughout, with an average of fewer than two yards per touch. Look for Zach Zenner to take on a larger portion of Detroit's rushing workload at Blount's expense against the Packers in Week 17 after turning his eight carries into 45 yards in this one.

Blount (calf) is listed as active Sunday versus the Vikings, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Blount entered the weekend on the heels of back-to-back limited practice sessions, but his calf injury isn't enough to force him into street clothes for the first time this season. During the course of Kerryon Johnson's absence, Blount's usage has waned while Zach Zenner's reps increased and Theo Riddick's workload remained the same. As such, Blount may not be able to surpass his 10.5 touches per game from the last two outings.
