Chargers signed WRs Deon Butler and Dan DePalma, and DB Cornelius Brown.

They're offseason depth. The 91st pick in the 2009 draft, Butler has the most notable name as a former Penn State Nittany Lion who ran 4.32 at the Combine. He only has 57 receptions for 611 yards (10.7 YPR) and four scores across three NFL seasons and was not tendered as a restricted free agent by Seattle.

Butler takes the place of Charly Martin, who was sent to injured reserve with a calf injury. Butler was at the team's facility for a workout on Friday. He was among Seattle's final cuts heading into the season. Butler had previously worked out for the Saints and Lions this year.

The Lions worked out free agent wide receivers Deon Butler, Brian Robiskie and Legedu Naanee on Tuesday.

The Lions are in the market for wideout depth with Nate Burleson (leg) done for the year. Naanee is the best blocker in the group while Butler's speed gives him the most upside as a receiver. Butler has been on the street since the Seahawks cut him just before Week 1 this season.

Seahawks waived DB Phillip Adams, DE Pierre Allen, LB Allen Bradford, WR Deon Butler, WR Kris Durham, G Paul Fanaika, G Rishaw Johnson, WR Jermaine Kearse, LB Kyle Knox, WR Ricardo Lockette, TE Sean McGrath, DE Cordarro Law, C Kris O'Dowd, QB Josh Portis, DB DeShawn Shead, LB Korey Toomer, and WR Lavasier Tuinei.

Butler was a third-round pick in 2009, but hasn't been the same since suffering a compound leg fracture in 2010. Bradford was unable to make the transition from tailback. Portis was a favorite of coach Pete Carroll, but the team will go with only two quarterbacks.
