Miller (knee) signed a four-year, $16.25 million contract extension with the Jaguars on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reports.
Miller, a third-round pick by the Buccaneers in 2009, has recorded just four sacks in his six professional seasons, including one this year. It was the 6-foot-2, 310-pounder's contributions in stopping the run that earned him this extension.

Jaguars DT Roy Miller (shoulder) has been limited at OTAs.
Miller tore cartilage in his shoulder early last season and was finally placed on I.R. in December after playing through the issue all year. He underwent surgery and expects to be "full go in late July" for training camp. Miller, Sen'Derrick Marks, and Ziggy Hood will rotate up front at defensive tackle for the Jaguars.

Updating a previous item, Jaguars DT Roy Miller was placed on injured reserve Monday with a shoulder injury.
Miller has been playing much of the season with a torn labrum and needs surgery. He signed a two-year, $4.5 million deal with the Jaguars in March.

Jaguars placed DT Roy Miller on injured reserve, ending his season.
They signed DT Drake Nevis off the street to replace Miller for Week 17. Signed two a two-year, $4.5 million away from Tampa Bay this offseason, Miller wound up starting 15-of-15 games, operating as an early-down run stuffer. Unfortunately, he's not a great run defender. Miller is owed a $2.375 million base salary in 2014, no portion of which is guaranteed.

Jaguars GM Dave Caldwell says NT Roy Miller's knee tendinitis is no longer an issue.
Miller was still being held back in this week's minicamp, but Caldwell says the 310-pounder would suit up if he needed to play in a game this weekend. He'll be part of the rotation on the interior of Jags' defensive line.

NFL.com reports free agent DT Roy Miller will reach the open market.
Talks reportedly "broke off" last week, and apparently won't restart before next Tuesday. Miller is gambling on himself after being a part of the Bucs' historically good run defense last season, but may find his market surprisingly cold. He graded out poorly in Pro Football Focus' ratings, and comes off the field in passing situations.

The Tampa Bay Times reports there have been "no substantive contract talks" between the Bucs and free agent DT Roy Miller.
Miller was a 14-game starter for the Bucs' No. 1 run defense last season, but graded out poorly in Pro Football Focus' ratings. The 2009 third-round pick came off the bench in 2011 after starting all 16 games in 2010. Miller is a no-nonsense player, but comes off the field in passing situations. Coach Greg Schiano could be looking for "his guy" at nose tackle this offseason.
