Colts declared CB Vontae Davis (knee) active for Sunday's game against the Lions.

After missing four straight games, Davis returns and joins Cassius Vaughn in the starting lineup. Struggling Darius Butler will be the third corner. The Colts are expected to "play sides" with Calvin Johnson instead of shadowing him. TE Coby Fleener (shoulder) is also active, as expected. The Colts' inactives: WR Palmer, S Tom Zbikowski, RB Robert Hughes, TE Dominique Jones, T Bradley Sowell, G Tony Hills and DT Kellen Heard.

Colts CB Vontae Davis (knee) is expected to play in Sunday's game against the Lions.

Davis' exact role is unclear. He's the Colts' top corner, but he's missed the last four games and interim coach Bruce Arians has hinted at limited playing time. Davis will not be shadowing Calvin Johnson, which means Megatron is going to get matched up with burnable ex-Patriot Darius Butler plenty.

Colts CB Vontae Davis (knee) is listed as doubtful for Week 12 after missing Friday's practice.

Davis practiced Wednesday, couldn't make it through a full workout on Thursday, and was held out entirely on Friday. So he's not going to play against the Bills. The Colts will continue to start Cassius Vaughn opposite Darius Butler. Josh Gordy will be the nickel back for Indianapolis' injury-riddled back end.

Colts CB Vontae Davis (knee) confirmed he's going to be out "a while."

Davis is calling his left knee sprain a "freak thing" and he's limping around with a brace. Look for Cassius Vaughn to play right corner and Josh Gordy to slide in as the nickelback against the Dolphins in Week 9.
