Marcel Reece (knee) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.

Reece, whose MRI came back negative, was spotted going through some drills with teammates at the early part of practice. It suggests he at least has an outside shot at suiting up against the Chargers Sunday. If that's the case, Reece and Rashad Jennings would form a committee. Owners that added Jennings as a plug-n-play for this week need to follow Reece's status closely.

Marcel Reece's (knee) MRI came back negative, but he is without a timetable for a return.

Typically vague coach Dennis Allen would only confirm that Reece doesn't need surgery. At best, Reece appears to be week to week, and can be safely ruled out for Week 5. With Darren McFadden (hamstring) also ailing, the Raiders could be forced to rely on plodder Rashad Jennings in a big way against the Chargers.

Marcel Reece's knee injury is considered more serious than Darren McFadden's hamstring pull.

The Raiders did not update the status of either one of their backs following Sunday's loss to the Redskins. But given how quickly each one was ruled out for the game, we'd be stunned to see them in Week 5. Rashad Jennings rushed 15 times for 45 yards and caught eight passes for 71 yards in a relief role Sunday.

Raiders FB Marcel Reece suffered a knee injury in Week 4 against the Redskins and is done for the day.

Reece hasn't been heard from since early in the first quarter, leaving tailback duties to Rashad Jennings with Darren McFadden (hamstring) sidelined.

Marcel Reece caught four passes for 45 yards and one touchdown in Monday night's Week 3 loss to the Broncos.

The Raiders wanted to get Reece more touches, so they did just that. However, it wasn't hard to surpass his Week 1 (one) and Week 2 (two) totals. Reece caught his 16-yard touchdown from the right hand of Darren McFadden in the third quarter. Reece won't be on the fantasy radar unless DMC gets hurt.

GM Reggie McKenzie acknowledged the need to get Marcel Reece more touches.

Reece is a matchup nightmare for defenses thanks to his size/speed combo and route-running ability from the H-back spot. That's why McKenzie gave him a four-year, $14.4M contract last week. But through two games, Reece has just two carries and one catch (on three targets). It's simply not enough. Reece is a name to put on deeper watch lists, especially in PPR formats.

Marcel Reece rushed twice for 15 yards and a touchdown in Oakland's Week 2 win over the Jaguars.

Reece just signed a three-year extension on Friday, but has just 15 yards from scrimmage through two games. The 2012 fantasy folk hero would need an injury to Darren McFadden to get back on the roto radar.

Marcel Reece's three-year extension with the Raiders is worth more than $13 million.

The deal includes $7.2 million guaranteed, which easily makes him the highest paid fullback over Le'Ron McClain and Mike Tolbert. Reece was set to make $1.42 million in the final year of his contract and is now signed through 2016.

Raiders signed FB Marcel Reece to a three-year extension through 2016.

Details of the new deal are not yet available, but Reece was owed $1.423 million entering a contract year. Reece, 28, is averaging 4.8 yards per carry in his career with 107 receptions and six all-purpose touchdowns. A former wide receiver at Washington, Reece has developed into one of the game's premier and most versatile fullbacks. In Oakland's 2012 zone-blocking scheme, Reece was the best tailback on the team.
