Bears signed CB Jonathan Wilhite to a one-year contract.

Wilhite saw extensive action with the Broncos in the first half of last season, but was limited to special teams work over the final two months. The 2008 fourth-rounder will compete for snaps in subpackages with the Bears.

Broncos signed CB Jonathan Wilhite, formerly of the Patriots.

The 2008 fourth-rounder started 13 games for the Pats over the past three seasons, falling down the depth chart as the team added talent at corner. He'll vie for a role in sub-packages with the Broncos.

Patriots released CB Jonathan Wilhite, LS Matt Katula, FB Garrett Mills, DL Kade Weston, K Chris Koepplin, and DB Malcolm Williams.

Mills was trying to make the team as an undersized H-back, but never had a realistic shot. He doesn't have an NFL position. Wilhite follows Terrence Wheatley out the door a year later; both were top-four round cornerback picks in the 2008 draft, and neither panned out. Darius Butler looks safe for now.
