Ryan Torain RB NYG 3 Months
The next running back into the game following Andre Brown's Thursday night injury was Ryan Torain.
As ESPN New York notes, it's "not clear-cut" who will be David Wilson's backup while Brown (leg) rehabs. Reporter Dan Graziano does say he knows the Giants like Torain as a pass protector. It's possible he'll start off ahead of seventh-round rookie Michael Cox and speedy Da'Rel Scott, but we wouldn't waste too much time handcuffing Wilson. Torain has been one of the most injury-prone players in the league throughout his career and Brown could be back in a month.

Giants declined to tender RB Ryan Torain, making him an unrestricted free agent.
Torain is still only 26, but persistent injuries have sapped his burst and he's likely not long for the league. In two appearances with the G-Men last year, Torain didn't earn a carry. He might get a shot in someone's camp.

Giants agreed to terms with RB Ryan Torain.
Torain has been out of the league since the Redskins cut him on the heels of a 3.4 YPC average last December. He's a power back similar to Andre Brown while Kregg Lumpkin is a superior receiver and special teamer. Torain is the better bet to see carries as the third back in the Giants committee, but he's not yet on the fantasy radar.

In addition to Joseph Addai, the Giants worked out free agent RBs Ryan Torain, Mewelde Moore, and Kregg Lumpkin on Tuesday.
It's the first sign of interest in Torain that we've seen since the Redskins waived him in December of 2011. The workouts seem to suggest the Giants have at least mild concern about Ahmad Bradshaw's (neck) availability for Week 12 after the bye.

Ryan Torain passed through waivers unclaimed.
It's not a surprise. Mike Shanahan has been Torain's biggest fan for years, but not even he could stomach the blatant ineffectiveness Torain has shown of late. In eight games with the Redskins, he averaged 3.4 yards per carry, getting passed on the depth chart by Roy Helu and Evan Royster. Torain is now free to sign with any team.

Redskins waived RB Ryan Torain.
Last year's leading rusher, Torain had posted just 65 total yards since his 135-yard performance versus the Rams in Week 4. The injury-prone Torain entered the season as the third-stringer and was recently passed by rookie Evan Royster. Potential playoff teams such as the Lions, Titans, and Cowboys could use depth at tailback, though Torain's per-carry average of 3.4 yards isn't promising.

Ryan Torain played on 14-of-64 snaps in the Week 16 loss to the Vikings.
Even with both Tim Hightower (injured reserve, knee) and Roy Helu (knee, toe) sidelined, Torain barely played. He gained eight yards on four carries and is averaging 1.6 yards per carry on his last four attempts. Torain's NFL career is quickly slipping through his fingers.
