Josh Wilson DB ATL 4 Months
Josh Wilson opened training camp as the Falcons' nickel corner.
Wilson has been getting the majority of nickel reps over Robert McClain and Javier Arenas. He was a 16-game starter for Washington last season, but graded out as PFF's No. 76 corner. Wilson is the early favorite for slot duties, though competition for snaps behind Robert Alford and Desmond Trufant should carry on well into the preseason.

Falcons signed CB Josh Wilson, formerly of the Redskins.
Wilson, 29, was a 16-game starter for the Redskins last season. He also handled slot duties in nickel and dime packages but was routinely roasted and taken advantage of in coverage. Robert McClain, Javier Arenas, and Wilson will compete for snaps behind starters Robert Alford and Desmond Trufant.

Free agent CB Josh Wilson is visiting the Falcons on Tuesday.
Wilson visited the Lions on Monday. It's his first action of free agency after starting all 16 games opposite DeAngelo Hall and covering the slot in sub-packages. He turned 29 last month and was PFF's No. 80 corner in 2013.

The Redskins are not expected to re-sign free agent CB Josh Wilson.
Wilson started all 16 games opposite DeAngelo Hall this past season and moved into the slot in nickel packages, but he proved to be a big part of the Redskins' coverage problems. Washington wants to give second-year CB David Amerson a chance to earn significantly more playing time. Wilson turns 29 in March and will likely struggle to find multi-year contract offers.

Redskins CB Josh Wilson has restructured his contract, slashing his base salary from $3.9 million to $2 million.
It appears Wilson took a $600,000 pay-cut, with $1.3 million of his lost salary being converted to a bonus. The move frees up roughly $2 million in cap space. Wilson, 28, graded out as the 38th best cornerback in Pro Football Focus' ratings last season.

The Redskins have reportedly not asked CB Josh Wilson to restructure his contract.
It's a mild surprise considering the Redskins' extremely cumbersome cap situation. Wilson carries a $5.33M cap hit in 2013, the final year of his current contract. He was a 16-game starter a year ago in the league's third-worst pass defense.

CSN Washington reports the Redskins may approach CB Josh Wilson about a contract extension.
Wilson signed a three-year deal prior to the 2011 season, so he's entering the final year of his contract. The problem is that he carries a $5.33 million cap hit for 2013, so Washington may want to extend him and reduce the charge. Wilson started all 16 games in 2012, racking up 74 tackles and 13 passes defensed.
