Hayward (knee) has been released by the Redskins, The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hayward joined the Redskins in 2014 as a special teams standout, but a broken leg that year was followed by a torn ACL last August to limit him to just 11 games played for Washington. At 32 years old, Hayward will now hope to receive a training camp invitation and catch onto a roster elsewhere.

Redskins agreed to terms with LB Adam Hayward, formerly of the Bucs, on a three-year contract. Hayward, 30 in June, doesn't play much defense but is a stalwart on special teams. He racked up eight tackles on coverage units last season. Hayward's missed just five games in seven seasons. He'll also back up at the inside 'backer spot.

The Bucs reportedly aren't counting out Adam Hayward as a candidate for the starting middle linebacker job. The organization has been "pleased" with Mason Foster, who remains the strong favorite. A special teamer and reserve at all three linebacker spots, Hayward was unable to beat out Foster, Geno Hayes or Quincy Black for a starting job in the past.

Bucs re-signed LB Adam Hayward to a three-year contract. Hayward recorded 29 tackles and one sack as a backup linebacker at all three spots and special teamer last year. His role projects similarly in 2011. Hayward garnered some interest from the Rams last week, but ends up with the team that drafted him back in 2007.

The Rams are reportedly showing interest in free agent LB Adam Hayward. The Rams have been connected to a slew of second- and third-tier linebackers. They may only be offering just above the minimum considering the targets. Hayward was the Bucs' sixth-round pick in 2007. He's made four career starts.
