The Indianapolis Star agrees with ESPN Colts blogger Mike Wells that free agent Ahmad Bradshaw is unlikely to be re-signed.

Indy Star beat writer Stephen Holder believes Bradshaw was the Colts' best back when healthy in 2013, but Bradshaw's lack of durability has made him a poor investment for NFL clubs. "If he does return, it will be an attempt to add depth, at most," writes Holder. Bradshaw turns 28 in March. He's missed 19 games over the past three seasons and underwent neck surgery in October.

Impending free agent Ahmad Bradshaw (neck, injured reserve) plans to play in 2014.

"That's the plan," Bradshaw said. "Get ready for next season." According to Bradshaw, there's a chance he could have already been back on the field had he not been placed on injured reserve. Bradshaw is still only 27, and boasts a career 4.6 yards per carry. However, he has serious foot and neck issues to his name, and is going to have trouble landing guaranteed money in free agency, just like he did in 2013.

Profootballtalk reports Ahmad Bradshaw (neck) has decided to undergo surgery, and will miss the rest of the season.

Bradshaw tried rest and rehab for two weeks, but wasn't progressing at the necessary rate. Coupled with his chronic foot issues, Bradshaw's latest neck injury has his career in doubt even though he's only 27. Bradshaw was running well before going down, averaging 4.5 yards on 41 carries. His injury underscores why the Colts acquired Trent Richardson, and leaves T-Rich as Indy's clear lead back. Donald Brown is Richardson's handcuff. For his career, Bradshaw has averaged 4.6 yards per carry, and caught 139 passes in 87 games.

Coach Chuck Pagano says Ahmad Bradshaw (neck) will "take the next couple of weeks to sit back and decide what to do."

Bradshaw is out for the immediate future and may undergo season-ending neck surgery within the month. He's "seen several specialists" and will likely attempt rehab before going under the knife. Trent Richardson is locked in as a true bell-cow back. He's a top-ten running back play this week against the Seahawks.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Colts RB Ahmad Bradshaw (neck) is "undecided" on surgery after receiving a second opinion on Thursday.

It sounds like Bradshaw will attempt rest and rehab before going under the knife. Either way, he appears unlikely to suit up any time soon. Bradshaw's absence leaves Trent Richardson as the Colts' obvious bell-cow, and Donald Brown as his backup. It's doubtful you'll regret dropping Bradshaw in your 12-team re-draft league.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Ahmad Bradshaw (neck) is doubtful for Week 5.

Bradshaw has yet to resume practicing and should be considered week to week. Trent Richardson will remain an every-down back for Sunday's game against the Seahawks.

Ahmad Bradshaw (neck) is not practicing Wednesday.

Bradshaw's neck injury appears to be more serious than the Colts originally let on. We've marked him as "week to week" instead of "day to day." If Bradshaw can't go in Week 5, Trent Richardson is going to carry the mail against the Seahawks' dominant front seven on Sunday. Donald Brown will be mixed in as well.
