Scott Chandler's two-year contract with the Bills is worth an average of $2.38 million per season.

The deal includes a $1.2 million signing bonus. It's actually less than Chandler made last year and contains no other guaranteed money beyond this season. The re-signing of Chandler won't prevent the Bills from drafting a tight end.

Bills re-signed TE Scott Chandler to a two-year contract.

Chandler drew no known interest elsewhere. Turning 29 over the summer, Chandler is coming off a "career-year" that saw him post 653 yards and two touchdowns. With an erratic E.J. Manuel at the helm and Chandler possessing next to no movement skills, he'll be lucky to finish 2014 as a TE2.

The Buffalo News reports the Bills have expressed interest in re-signing free agent Scott Chandler.

Chandler, 29 in July, is coming off a career season that saw him reel in 53 passes for 653 yards and two scores. He has no playmaking ability and is only a red-zone option. Ideally, Chandler would be a No. 2 tight end on a good team.

Bills coach Doug Marrone hopes to re-sign free agent Scott Chandler.

"I think Scott did a heck of a job for us," Marrone said. "I talked to Scott after the year, I thought he did a great job. I thought he was a guy who tries to lead well, he does everything we asked of him. I'm hoping he decides to come back, I really do." It could be coachspeak, but Marrone could have just as easily said something noncommittal. Going on 29, Chandler is a big target in the middle of the field and red zone, but has zero play-making ability. He'd be best suited as part of a tight-end tandem.

Scott Chandler caught three passes for 55 yards in Buffalo's Week 17 loss to the Patriots.

Returning from a torn ACL, the lumbering Chandler finishes 2013 with 53 catches for 653 yards and two scores. Chandler is a sure pair of hands, particularly in the red zone, but offers little play-making ability. Going on 29, Chandler is headed to the open market. It's quite possible the Bills will look to get more explosive at tight end. Chandler is best suited to complementary role.

Scott Chandler caught five passes for 54 yards in Week 15 against the Jaguars.

Chandler reeled in all five of his targets against the Jaguars' bottom-feeding tight-end defense. He hasn't scored since Week 6. Chandler is a low-end TE2.

Scott Chandler caught two balls for 24 yards in the Bills' Week 14 loss to the Buccaneers.

Chandler turned in another ho-hum, quiet effort, which has been typical throughout his career. Even against a Jacksonville defense allowing the second most fantasy points to tight ends, Chandler will be no more than a TE2 in Week 15.

Scott Chandler caught four passes for 63 yards and lost a fumble in Sunday's overtime loss to the Falcons.

The lumbering Chandler made some big plays late by catching out patterns and turning them upfield. But he buried his team by fumbling in overtime, leading to the game-winning field goal by Matt Bryant. Chandler is on pace for 54 catches, 654 yards and three touchdowns as a low-upside TE2.

Scott Chandler caught two passes for 40 yards in the Bills' Week 11 win over the Jets.

Chandler has always been a touchdown-dependent fantasy commodity because he doesn't catch a high volume of passes and lacks big-play ability in the passing game. So when he fails to hit pay dirt, he burns a hole in your fantasy lineup. Feel free to drop Chandler during Buffalo's Week 12 bye.

Scott Chandler caught three balls for 21 yards in the Bills' Week 10 loss to the Steelers.

A mid-range to low-end TE2, Chandler wasn't even in the game when the Bills were at the goal line late in garbage time. Rookie Chris Gragg came up with E.J. Manuel's two-yard touchdown pass. Chandler is going to need Manuel to play far better than he did against Pittsburgh in order to be start-able in fantasy leagues. The Bills face the Jets in Week 11 before a Week 12 bye.
