Micheal Spurlock WR CHI 21 Days
Spurlock was waived by the Bears on Tuesday.
Spurlock saw action at receiver in Week 1 while both Alshon Jeffery and Brandon Marshall missed parts of the Bears' loss to the Bills with injuries, notching one catch for eight yards on three targets. However, with both receivers now healthy and the Bears comfortable with Senorise Perry as their kick returner and Santonio Holmes as their punt returner, holding onto Spurlock wasn't a luxury the team could afford.

Spurlock will serve as the Bears' kick and punt returner to begin the season, Chicago Tribune reports.
Spurlock didn't exactly make the Bears forget his predecessor, Devin Hester, after taking five punts for nine combined yards as well as kickoff returns of 18 and 19 yards during the preseason. As such, coach Marc Trestman intimated that Spurlock's hold on the jobs isn't secure, especially after fellow newcomer, Santonio Holmes, ripped off a 30-yard punt return in the fourth exhibition. Additionally, Rashad Ross resides on the practice squad as a specialist who produced kickoff returns of 22, 27, 37, and 42 in three preseason games with Washington. In any case, though, Spurlock holds down the Bears' return spots for now.

Spurlock appears to have locked down a 53-man roster spot for the Bears, Jeff Dickerson of ESPNChicago.com reports.
Spurlock wasn't dealing with an injury but was still rested in Thursday's preseason finale after taking part in pregame drills, a sign that his standing on the roster appears sound. While his exact role will hinge on whether or not the Bears elect to hang on to Chris Williams, Spurlock is poised to claim the No. 5 or 6 receiver gig while providing the team with an option on punt and kick returns.

Cowboys signed KR/PR Micheal Spurlock.
With Dwayne Harris (hamstring) likely sidelined again, the Cowboys want more upside than the likes of Terrance Williams and Cole Beasley returning kicks. Spurlock has a tie to Dallas in special teams coach Rich Bisaccia, who coached him while with the Bucs and Chargers.

Lions signed WR/KR Micheal Spurlock.

The Union-Tribune San Diego believes free agent WR/KR Micheal Spurlock could be an option for the Cowboys.
Dallas' interest level isn't known, but Spurlock has followed new special teams coach Rich Bisaccia around for his entire career. Spurlock, 30, would be nothing more than depth. A return to San Diego also hasn't been ruled out.

Micheal Spurlock caught seven passes for 64 yards in the Chargers' Week 14 win over the Steelers.
Spurlock is a return specialist that had 14 catches all season coming into this one. But he was able to get open on some quick outs and slants with Eddie Royal sidelined and caught all seven of the balls that came his way. Don't expect a repeat performance against the Panthers in Week 15.
