Aaron Rodgers says there are no residual issues with the broken left collarbone that cost him seven games last season.

"It feels good," Rodgers said. "I don't have any issues." Rodgers did not appear to be inhibited during his two-game return, while the Packers wouldn't have cleared him had they feared any future issues. The injury is a non-story heading into the 2014 season.

Aaron Rodgers completed 17-of-26 passes for 177 yards and a touchdown, and tacked on 11 yards rushing in the Packers' Wild Card round loss to the 49ers.

Green Bay's offensive line couldn't handle San Francisco's superior defensive front early, failing to both protect and run block adequately. Rodgers took four sacks among his first 21 dropbacks. The Packers managed six total yards in the first quarter, with a trio of three-and-outs. They finally got a spark from Tramon Williams' second-quarter interception, as Rodgers responded with a long drive and five-yard touchdown toss to Jordy Nelson. Rodgers' highlight-reel play came on an escape from a surefire fourth-quarter sack, followed by a rocket ball to Randall Cobb for 26 yards on fourth-and-two. The Packers traded scoring possessions back and forth with the 49ers for much of the second half, but Niners K Phil Dawson's 33-yard field goal would seal the deal. Rodgers' 2014 fantasy outlook remains elite despite his largely injury-ruined 2013. He'll be a top-three quarterback pick alongside Peyton Manning and Drew Brees.

The forecast for Lambeau Field in Green Bay is calling for temperatures in the single digits throughout Sunday afternoon's 49ers-Packers playoff game.

The game has a 4:40 PM ET kickoff. Weather.com projects it to be near 5 degrees when the game starts, with a wind chill near -14 degrees, and it will only get colder. Winds will be whipping at 18-19 MPH. There's a 20-30 percent chance of snow during the game. Normally, a cold game would favor the Packers, but this is insanely frigid. Neither team may have a real edge.

The projected high for Sunday in Green Bay is -5 degrees.

In other words, Green Bay and San Francisco are going to be playing in Ice Bowl-esque temperatures. Per AccuWeather.com, temperatures are expected to hover near -7 degrees at 5PM CT, with the wind chill plunging to near -30 degrees. It's weather so unbelievably cold that it's unlikely to provide much of an advantage for the Pack. Both teams are going to suffer. Sunday is going to be about survival on the Frozen Tundra.

Aaron Rodgers (collarbone) has been named the Packers' Week 17 starter.

"Any football player that plays Sunday will have risk," coach Mike McCarthy said in making the announcement. "We've done our due diligence. We feel it's time for Aaron to play." The Packers have been remarkably patient with Rodgers' health, but with everything on the line in Sunday's NFC North championship game against the Bears, decided it was finally time to roll the dice. Rodgers will undoubtedly have some rust to knock off, but is an elite QB1 whenever he takes the field. The game will have shootout potential at Soldier Field. Rodgers' return thrusts Jordy Nelson back into the WR1 ranks. James Jones will be a boom-or-bust WR2, with Jarrett Boykin a high-upside WR3. Of course, that calculus will change if Randall Cobb (leg) joins Rodgers in returning.

Aaron Rodgers (collarbone) was operating as the first-team quarterback in the portion of Packers practice open to the media on Thursday.

It's the first time Rodgers has been ahead of Matt Flynn since returning to Packers practice several weeks ago. It's still not a guarantee he'll be under center for Sunday's winner-take-all tilt with the Bears, but is an excellent sign for his Week 17 prospects. We should get official word within the next hour or two.

Speaking on his radio show Tuesday, Aaron Rodgers (collarbone) said a decision will be made Thursday on whether he will start the Week 17 game against the Bears.

"We have done a scan [within the last 24 hours] and we are going through the process of evaluation," Rodgers said. "It will be definitive one way or another on Thursday. I've been feeling better every week. Last week felt great at practice. Comes down to is the bone healed or is there a large risk that's too great that the organization wouldn't want to put me out there? If you want to be mad at anybody be mad that my collarbone hasn't healed the way we've wanted it to." Rodgers didn't express much optimism, but this could go either way. As of now, we'd expect Matt Flynn to get the start. We'll have an answer on Thursday.
