Tom Brady completed 24-of-38 passes for 277 yards and a touchdown, and rushed for a second score as New England fell to Denver 26-16 in Sunday's AFC Championship game.

Brady blew a huge first-quarter vertical strike opportunity on a bad overthrow intended for Julian Edelman, who got wide open on a slot route that developed deep down the left sideline. The Pats tried to attack Denver's defense with a pass-happy approach, for which OC Josh McDaniels and Bill Belichick may receive hindsight criticism this week after all of LeGarrette Blount and Stevan Ridley's recent success. This loss was squarely on Tom Terrific's shoulders, as Brady blew yet another shot-play chance at the end of the first half, missing an open Austin Collie so badly the ball fell incomplete out of bounds. Brady's lone passing touchdown of the 2013-2014 playoffs wound up going to Edelman to "narrow" the deficit to 23-10 in the fourth quarter. Although Brady's depleted supporting cast deserves plenty of blame, his accuracy beyond ten yards has declined noticeably and significantly the past two seasons. Now going on age 37, Brady will be a lower-end QB1 pick in 2014 fantasy

Tom Brady (illness) returned to the Patriots facility Thursday and is expected to practice.

Brady is just dealing with a little cold and will be fine for Sunday's AFC Championship game against the Broncos. The shoulder "injury" is a non-issue. Brady has the most wins in playoff history with 18. The Patriots have been to eight AFC Championship games in Brady's 12 years.

Tom Brady was officially listed as "DNP" on the Wednesday injury report with illness and a right shoulder issue.

Eyebrows will raise at the "shoulder" designation, but it's nothing new for Brady. Missed practice time isn't ideal ahead of the Patriots' biggest game of the season, but if anyone can manage it, it's Brady. This is New England's eighth appearance of the Brady era in the AFC Championship Game.

Tom Brady QB NE 7 Months's Ian Rapoport reports Tom Brady missed Wednesday's practice with an illness.

A source tells Rapoport that Brady is "just sick." In other words, it's nothing to worry about. It's unusual for Brady to miss practice time ahead of such an important game, but it shouldn't be a factor on Sunday. There's zero reason to worry about Brady's status for the AFC Championship Game.

Tom Brady (undisclosed) wasn't present at the portion of practice open to the media Wednesday.

Brady's presser, which was originally scheduled for Wednesday afternoon, has been pushed back to Friday. He's been on the injury report the past few weeks with a shoulder injury but had been practicing in full. We doubt it's anything serious. The Patriots are likely just playing games. There's also a chance Brady shows up for the latter part of practice that is closed to the media. We'll update his status later. For now, there's no need to worry about Brady's availability for Sunday.

Tom Brady completed 13-of-25 passes for 198 yards, zero touchdowns and zero interceptions in New England's Divisional Round win over the Colts.

The Patriots entered the game wanting to ram the ball down the Colts' throat, and they obliged by springing major defensive leaks in the second half. The sub-200 yard effort was just Brady's second in a playoff game since 2004. Brady is going to be dropping back far more often if New England draws Denver in next week's AFC Championship Game. Peyton Manning would be all but certain to lure Brady into a shootout.

Tom Brady (shoulder) is practicing in full for Week 17.

Brady's "injury" wasn't a factor in Week 16. He'll be his usual self against the Bills.

Tom Brady completed 14-of-26 passes for 172 yards and a touchdown as the Patriots dominated Baltimore 41-7 in Week 16.

It was an easy day for Brady, who was tasked with doing very little as New England's D took it to a gimpy Joe Flacco. Both the 172 yards and 14 completions were his fewest since he posted 13 and 116, respectively, against the Dolphins in Week 8. Strangely, that performance also came in a victory. The bad news is that Brady lost yet another weapon, as Shane Vereen missed the better part of three quarters with a groin injury. His Week 17 status is unclear. Brady has 4,221 yards and 24 scores heading into Week 17.
