Bears released DE Chauncey Davis.

Davis reportedly put together a strong camp at age 29, but the Bears are going young along the defensive line. It looks like both Corey Wootton and Cheta Ozougwu are sticking.

Bears signed DE Chauncey Davis, formerly of the Falcons.

The long-time Falcon and reserve pass rusher was one of Atlanta's final cuts. He appeared in all 16 games a season ago, tallying 24 tackles, a sack and an interception. Davis worked out for the Patriots and Lions before being signed by the Bears.

Falcons released DE Chauncey Davis.

It's a cost-cutting move. Davis is still only 28, but was due $3 million and the Falcons are banking on Lawrence Sidbury to take the next step as a No. 4 end. It will be interesting to see if they also keep seventh-round pick Cliff Matthews, who flashed in camp. Davis will resurface within the next two weeks.
