Adam Vinatieri K IND 5 Hrs
Colts re-signed K Adam Vinatieri to a two-year contract.
The 41-year-old made a career-high 35 field goals last season, going 19-of-23 from 40-plus yards out. With P Pat McAfee also back in the fold on a long-term deal to also handle kickoff duties, the Colts have locked up both special teams legs. Vinatieri previously stated he plans to kick for two or three more seasons.

The Indy Star considers free agent K Adam Vinatieri a candidate for the franchise tag.
The standard figure for placekickers on the franchise tag is $3.4 million. But under the CBA, Vinatieri would cost roughly $4 million to tag because he was already making $3.4 million last season. It's a steep price, but the Colts could pay it to avoid giving a 41-year-old Vinatieri a long-term deal. Last year, Sebastian Janikowski got four years and $19 million, Robbie Gould got four years and $15 million, and Rob Bironas got two years worth $6.675 million.

Adam Vinatieri tied an NFL record in Week 13 by making four field goals from 40-49 yards out.
Vinatieri made five field goals overall and added an extra point for a difference-making fantasy day. The Colts' red-zone struggles will make him a strong option weekly, although we'd prefer to use him in a dome. Indy travels outside to Cincy in Week 14 and then comes home for a tasty inside matchup with the Texans in Week 15.

Adam Vinatieri has converted 26 consecutive field goals at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Vinatieri went 4-for-4 in yesterday's loss to the Browns, including an impressive 52-yarder. The problem is that the Colts will struggle to even get into field-goal range against good defenses, leaving Vinatieri as a weak fantasy play.

Colts agreed to terms with K Adam Vinatieri on a three-year contract.
Vinatieri bounced back from an injury-plagued 2009 season to drill 26 of 28 field goal attempts as a top-five fantasy kicker last year. The 38-year-old is once again a K1, though his field goal production could take a hit with Peyton Manning's weapons back to full health.
