Seahawks will work out free agent kickers Ryan Longwell and Neil Rackers this week.

Longwell, 38, has generated zero interest since being released by the Vikings in May after he made 22-of-28 attempts in 2011. Rackers, 36, lost the Redskins training camp battle to Billy Cundiff this season and hasn't played in 2012. Other kickers are expected to join the two in Seattle. Steven Hauschka is dealing with a calf injury.

Vikings released K Ryan Longwell.

They'll move forward with sixth-round rookie Blair Walsh. Longwell, who turns 38 before the season, shanked 6-of-28 field-goal attempts last year in addition to one PAT. Opponents also had a lot of success returning kicks against the Vikings. It's still a questionable decision because Walsh went 21-for-35 on field goals as a college senior, connecting on just 54.8 percent of his attempts from beyond 30 yards. We suspect Longwell will find a new home quickly. The Vikings' kicking duties are on even shakier footing with the rookie Walsh.

Vikings K Ryan Longwell is in danger of losing his roster spot after the team used a sixth-round pick on K Blair Walsh.

Longwell carries a $1.75M salary after converting just 78.6 percent of his field-goal attempts in 2011. He turns 38 this fall. It should be noted that Walsh only connected on 21-of-35 field goals as a senior at Georgia, and went 17-for-31 from beyond 30 yards (54.8 percent). He should be guaranteed nothing.

Panic (fantasysharks.com)

Gloom,despair and agony on me.

Deepdark depression, excessive misery.

Ifit weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all.

Feelingdown because Jamaal Charles is done for the year? Losing Jon Beasonor Thomas Davis destroy your linebacker corps? Draft Peyton Manningthis year? So you are 0-2 after two weeks. So what? Time to panic? I think not.

Butyou should have started after week one.

Paniccauses rash decisions. Rash decisions cost wins. Do not sacrificethe talent you have left to get a couple mediocre players.

Everyyear, players come out of nowhere to become fantasy stars. Hopefully, you built strength into one position so you can seektrades from a position of power.

Ifyou drafted Manning, then you had a hint that there might be aproblem when the Colts signed Kerry Collins. If so, you probablyhave a decent backup. If not, most leagues still have some QBs thatmight be serviceable or even potentially better than serviceable. Guys like Ryan Fitzpatrick, Cam Newton and Rex Grossman were probablyavailable after week one.

Guyslike Jason Campbell, Alex Smith and Andy Dalton are probablyavailable now. And before you start laughing -- check the rankingsin your league. In one of mine Dalton has out-scored Josh Freeman,Matt Schaub, Ben Roethlisberger and Eli Manning -- despite missinghalf of his first game.

Runningbacks are always tougher to replace. But because of that, you shouldhave had at least three starting caliber backs on your roster. Ifnot, your best bet is to look for backups to starters that might bereplaced due to injury or poor performance or backs that have apartial role right now.

Backsto consider might include Ernest Graham, Keiland Williams, John Kuhn,Danny Woodhead or Isaac Redman.

Widereceiver is always a position that allows for stars after the seasonstarts. This year, David Nelson, Nate Washington, Danario Alexander,Brandon LaFell and Denarius Moore have all had surprising games andmost of them will find a spot on someone's roster before week 3kicks off.

Eventight ends can be your friend. Fred Davis, Scott Chandler, JeffKing, Ed Dickson and Evan Moore are still available in most leaguesand Davis is in the top 5 at his position. Chandler, King andDickson are in the top 10.

Butmost of you are still waiting on Jermichael Finley, Greg Olsen,Antonio Gates or Vernon Davis to kick it in gear. While I would notcut any of the aforementioned "stud" tight ends, I wouldcertainly pick up a backup...

Vikings agreed to terms with K Ryan Longwell on a multi-year contract.

Longwell isn't much of an asset on long distance field goals and kickoffs, but it's tough to beat his 93.5 percent mark on three-pointers the past two seasons. Turning 37 next month, Longwell should bounce back with a better fantasy season in 2011.

Free agent Ryan Longwell's "full intention" is to re-sign with the Vikings as long as he receives a fair offer.

"It does seem like a really good fit," said Longwell. "I am a firm believer in the way Coach Frazier approaches coaching and life." Longwell had previously hinted that he was eager to test the market, but he may have had an epiphany of sorts during a recent vacation at a Christian family dude ranch in Estes Park, Colorado.
