Cardinals beat writer Darren Urban doesn't believe re-signing free agent ILB Paris Lenon is a likely option following the suspension of ILB Daryl Washington.

Lenon, 35, has started 48 games the last three seasons for the Cardinals but has declined in effectiveness each year. A new coaching staff, age, and a vulnerability against the run are among the reasons we don't see a reunion with the team.

AZCardinals.com "wouldn't be surprised" if the Cardinals don't re-sign impending free agent ILB Paris Lenon.

Frankly, it would be far more surprising if Arizona brought Lenon, 35, back than it would be if they let him go. He has been completely man-handled versus the run over the last three seasons, despite starting all 48 games. Arizona needs to find a better player to line up next to stud ILB Daryl Washington.

IDP Studs and Duds - Week 16 (fantasysharks.com)

It's Week 16 of the 2012 fantasy football season, which means that in the majority of IDP leagues this is it. It's championship week, and that means that after this week's games one team will reign supreme as the 2012 league champion.

That also means that this marks the end of the line for this year's column. It's my hope that I was at least marginally helpful this season, and with the holidays nearly upon us I'd like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas.

So, as we ready for one last huge game it's time for another week of IDP Studs and Duds, where I'll point out some Individual Defensive Players who could be set to exceed expectations this week (Studs) and some that for whatever reason are riskier plays than usual (Duds).

That isn't necessarily to say that every "Stud" is a must-start (it depends on your other options) or that every "Dud" should be glued to your bench (just that the odds of a letdown week are greater than usual).

Finally, before we get on with the show, if you have a specific IDP Start/Sit question you'd like my take on you can e-mail me at askgary@fantasysharks.com or post the question in the "Kilroy Krystal Ball" thread in the Fantasy Sharks IDP Forum. I can't promise I'll get to every question, but I'll do the best I can.

STUDS

Brandon Graham -- DE, Philadelphia Eagles (vs. WAS): The release of Jason Babin led to more playing time for the third-year pro and Graham has made the most of it, racking up 14 tackles, four sacks, and a forced fumble over the last three games, and this week Graham draws a top-five IDP matchup with the Washington Redskins.

Brian Robison -- DE, Minnesota Vikings (at HOU): The sixth-year veteran is surprisingly only 1.5 sacks behind teammate Jared Allen, and Robison's IDP prospects in Week 16 look good given that the Houston Texans have surrendered the fourth-most fantasy points per game to defensive linemen this year.

Kamerion Wimbley -- DE, Tennessee Titans (at GB): Wimbley has been something of a disappointment in his first year in Tennessee, but the seventh-year pro has a good shot at ending the IDP season on a high point given that no team has allowed more fantasy points to defensive linemen this season than the Green Bay Packers

David Harris -- ILB, New York Jets (vs. SD): Lost in the disaster that is the 2012 New York Jets has been the fact that linebacker David Harris has logged over 100 tackles for the first time since 2009, and this week the 28-year-old has a very...

IDP Studs and Duds - Week 3 (fantasysharks.com)

We're two weeks into the 2012 NFL season, and while some IDP stars such as Arizona Cardinals linebacker Daryl Washington are off to solid starts others such as Buffalo Bills defensive end Mario Williams have left their fantasy owners scratching their heads.

As is usually the case with these recommendations, Week 2 was a mixed bag for yours truly. Carolina Panthers' strong safety Charles Godfrey made me look great with an interception return for a touchdown against the New Orleans Saints, but defensive end Calais Campbell of the Arizona Cardinals apparently didn't like being labeled a "dud" and took out those frustrations on the New England Patriots.

Now that I've celebrated my hits and shaken off my misses it's time for another week of IDP Studs and Duds, where I'll point out some Individual Defensive Players who could be set to exceed expectations this week (Studs) and some that for whatever reason are riskier plays than usual (Duds).

That isn't necessarily to say that every "Stud" is a must-start (it depends on your other options) or that every "Dud" should be glued to your bench (just that the odds of a letdown week are greater than usual).

STUDS

Cameron Jordan -- DE, New Orleans Saints (vs. KC): Jordan followed up his 11 tackle outing in the season opener with a sack against the Carolina Panthers last week. The second-year pro should be set to continue his strong start to the season Sunday against a Kansas City Chiefs team that has allowed the third-most fantasy points to opposing defensive linemen this year.

Robert Quinn -- DE, St. Louis Rams (at CHI): The second-year pro has a sack in each of the Rams first two games this year. Quinn has an excellent shot at making it three games in a row Sunday against the Bears, given how awful Chicago looked in pass protection against the Green Bay Packers last week.

Derek Wolfe -- DE, Denver Broncos (vs. HOU): After notching three tackles and a sack in the season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers Wolfe was shutout of the stat column in the loss to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 2. But look for the rookie to rebound this week in a very favorable fantasy matchup with the Texans.

Chad Greenway --...

Gauging a player's fantasy worth off of preseason performance can be a double-edged sword for fantasy owners. For every head-turning performance turned in by a Ben Tate, as in the 2011 preseason, there is a Cedric Peerman or Anthony Dixon, circa 2010, who put up three and four touchdowns, respectively. Then the regular season rolls around and neither is a factor for fantasy purposes, rendering their preseason feats useless for evaluation purposes.

The same perilous situation affects the defensive side of the ball as starters are rested and kept to very limited action, allowing names to jump off the stat sheets who are not normally thought of as fantasy relevant. A better example would be a look at the top two running backs this preseason, Cyrus Gray (Kansas City) and Joique Bell (Detroit). Do we really expect to see either of these players among the Top 50 fantasy producing players at their position? Didn't think so. So, let's delve into the defensive side of the ball and examine some preseason darlings to date and their chances to actually contribute once the ‘real' season begins.

Jordan Senn, OLB, Carolina: After being allowed to check out his worth on the free agent market, Senn re-signed with the Panthers as mainly a special teams player. He leads the NFL this preseason with 17 total tackles and actually has had some moderate success when called upon for extended playing time. He amassed more than 70 total stops last season and forced three fumbles while filling in on an injury ravaged Carolina linebacking corps. As the kickoff of the 2012 season nears, the Panthers are once again nursing some nicks and bruises among their linebackers. Jon Beason has yet to suit up for a preseason contest while recovering from an Achilles injury and oft-injured Thomas Davis is dealing with a calf problem. Davis is also attempting to comeback from three ACL surgeries and is far from a lock to make it through the season unscathed. Senn is undersized at 5-foot-11 and 225 pounds but is the primary backup to both Beason and Davis, so he could hear his name called again to step in and contribute for Carolina in 2012. His preseason success is less of a ‘red herring' and more of a reminder to fantasy owners that he can get the job done if given the opportunity.

Stewart Bradley, ILB, Arizona: Bradley was a huge disappointment last year, his first in Arizona, as he failed to unseat Paris Lenon in the Cardinals defense and put up only 31 total tackles. Entering his second...

Cardinals ILB Paris Lenon left Sunday night's preseason opener with a right ankle injury.

His return was listed as "doubtful," meaning Lenon won't return to the preseason opener. Lenon has been an incredibly durable pro, missing one game in his entire 11-year career. Stewart Bradley is Lenon's backup inside.

4/24/2012 Arizona Cardinals Comment

Cardinals ILB Paris Lenon's $1.9 million 2012 salary has been bumped to $2.4 million by playing-time incentives.

Lenon played an absurd 1,127 snaps during his age-34 campaign last season, more than any other linebacker in the league. He also graded out as one of Pro Football Focus' worst 3-4 inside linebackers in the process, however. If all goes according to plan for the Cardinals, ILB Stewart Bradley will make strides during his second season in the desert, greatly curtailing Lenon's snaps.
