The Eagles worked out free agent P Brad Maynard for the second time Monday.
As an undrafted rookie last season, incumbent Chas Henry was among the worst punters in the league. But it's unlikely that a 38-year-old Maynard would be able to win the job after managing just 40.5 gross yards per punt for the Browns last season.

Browns signed P Brad Maynard.
After Richmond McGee faceplanted in Week 1 with three shanks, the Browns quickly move on. Maynard, 37, averaged 40.1 yards per punt last season for the Bears but ranked 29th in net average. He's more of a directional kicker at this point.

Texans agreed to terms with P Brad Maynard on a one-year contract.
Maynard will replace Matt Turk, who left for rival Jacksonville. Though he ranked just 29th in net average (35.2 yards) last season, Maynard is still regarded as one of the top directional punters in the league.

The Bears have informed free agent P Brad Maynard that they are moving on without him.
The Chicago Tribune and CSN Chicago already reported this during the spring. Maynard, 37, is expected to be on the Redskins' radar despite a poor 2010 season. Per the Trib, the Bears will likely target Steve Weatherford as his replacement.

Free agent P Brad Maynard reportedly failed to see eye-to-eye with special teams coordinator Dave Toub at times last season.
Directional kicking was at the heart of the disagreement, which was described as "nothing super serious." The Bears are still expected to move on from Maynard, with former Jets P Steve Weatherford as the preferred target.
