Jason Taylor officially announced he will retire following Sunday's game against the Jets at a Wednesday evening press conference.

"After 15 years of doing this and 13 here in Miami, unfortunately and fortunately, this will be my last game as a Miami Dolphin." Sunday's game will be the 233rd of Taylor's career, and come against one of the two other teams he played for besides the Dolphins. Of Taylor's 139.5 career sacks, which are good for sixth all time, 131 have come in a Dolphins uniform. A future in T.V. probably awaits the likely future Hall-of-Famer.

Sources close to the Miami Dolphins say veteran linebacker Jason Taylor will announce his retirement following his team's season finale this weekend.

Jason Taylor will retire after this season, sources tell the Miami Herald.

Barring a change of heart, Sunday's game against the Jets will be the last in Taylor's 15-year career. It's a mild surprise considering his play has improved this season and he hasn't missed a game since 2008. Taylor's 139 1/2 career sacks are good for sixth all time, he went to the Pro Bowl six times and was named the 2006 Defensive Player of the Year. Taylor will be 38 in September.

Free agent DE/OLB Jason Taylor announced on his Facebook page Monday that he's signing with the Dolphins.

According to the Miami Herald, coach Tony Sparano and GM Jeff Ireland "reached out" to Taylor to soothe over some hard feelings after the Dolphins showed him the door last offseason. The Jets weren't interested in bringing the 37-year-old back, so his options were limited. He'll play a situational pass-rushing role behind Koa Misi.

Free agent DE/OLB Jason Taylor plans to play at least one more season.

Taylor indicated early this offseason that there was no scenario under which he'd return to the Dolphins. He also said Rex Ryan was the only coach he wanted to play for. Six months later, Taylor is open to playing in Miami, perhaps realizing the Jets have moved on.
