Bears signed LS Chris Massey.
Massey snapped in Panthers camp this preseason. He replaces long-time Bears long-snapper Patrick Mannelly, who blew out his knee last week.

With the Rams since 2002, Massey was cut loose on Monday. He'll compete to be the Panthers' long snapper with J.J. Jansen, who has held the job for the past two seasons.

They must be pleased with undrafted rookie Jacob McQuaide's training camp performance. It's believed Massey was paid a $500,000 roster bonus at the start of camp. He was the longest tenured Ram left, hanging around since 2002.
