Eagles DL coach Jim Washburn believes free agent DT Albert Haynesworth is "finished."

Washburn coached Haynesworth from 2002-08 in Tennessee. "I think he's finished. Gotta degenerative back," Washburn said. "Everybody hates him. I love him." Haynesworth hasn't made a single visit in free agency, and notched zero sacks in 13 games between the Bucs and Patriots last season. Washburn is likely right.

There is nothing "imminent" with free agent DT Albert Haynesworth at this time, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Schefter suggests that Haynesworth will need some injuries around the league before he gets a strong look. As he enters his age-31 season, the former All-Pro's on-field production isn't worth anything near the off-field distractions he brings to a team.

Free agent DT Albert Haynesworth confirmed that he plans to continue his playing career in 2012.

"Yeah of course. I still love the game of football," said Haynesworth. "If you can get in the right situation, it would be good for any team and for me. I'm just looking to get back on top and to be the best defensive tackle in football." Those days are long gone. Haynesworth has his work cut out for him just to land guaranteed money.

Rams coach Jeff Fisher isn't ruling out a reunion with free agent DT Albert Haynesworth.

In fact, Fisher and his staff have already discussed the possibility of signing the chronic underachiever. Fisher oversaw Haynesworth's best seasons in Nashville, but that was a half-decade ago.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers released defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth on Wednesday.

Buccaneers released DT Albert Haynesworth.

Haynesworth had no chance of returning at $7.2 million. The timing suggests new coach Greg Schiano wanted no part of the headache regardless. Failing to make a positive impact in seven games with the Bucs, Haynesworth played a part in one of the league's most embarrassing defensive showings down the stretch. While his talent continues to tempt coaches around the league, Haynesworth is running out of opportunities entering his age-31 season.
