Young (knee) is questionable to play Week 3 against the Cowboys.

Young recorded a sack along with seven tackles Monday against the Eagles.

EDGE Analysis

After not recording any stats in Week 1, Young made his presence felt by being among the Bears leaders in tackles in this contest. With Pernell McPhee (knee) out for at least another six weeks and Lamarr Houston (knee) out for the season, Young should be a full-time player who could be a surprising source of tackles and sacks for the foreseeable future.

Young agreed to a three-year deal with the Bears Saturday that equates to a two-year extension.

EDGE Analysis

Young opted to play it safe and take the extension rather than waiting out the last year on his contract. The 31-year-old veteran played in 15 games last year after he tore his left Achilles tendon in the 2015 season.

Young (ribs) is active for Sunday's matchup with the Lions, Jeff Dickerson of ESPN Chicago reports.

EDGE Analysis

Young saw his streak of five consecutive games with a sack come to an end last week against the Buccaneers, but he'll attempt to end the season on a high note Sunday. The rib injury limited him in his two practice appearances this week, however, which could result in a smaller snap count.

Young accrued four tackles and a sack in Sunday's 24-21 loss to the Redskins.

EDGE Analysis

Young's sack can be partially attributed to the Bears secondary providing sound coverage on the play, but the outside linebacker still did well to finish off the tackle. He's now notched a sack in four straight weeks, boosting his total to 5.5 for the campaign.

Young will start Sunday against the Redskins with Pernell McPhee (knee) ruled inactive, Jeff Dickerson of ESPN Chicago reports.

EDGE Analysis

McPhee had been limited enough by the injury in last week's loss to the 49ers to the point where he and the Bears' other three outside linebackers -- Young, Lamarr Houston, and Sam Acho -- had all seen a similar amount of snaps. McPhee's absence for Sunday's game will allow the three healthy outside linebackers to see a slightly increased workload, with Young probably representing the most appealing IDP option of the trio. Young has collected 3.5 sacks over his last three games.

Young recorded three tackles and 1.5 sacks in Sunday's 26-20 overtime loss to the 49ers.

EDGE Analysis

Young has generated at least one sack in each of the last three weeks, as he finally seems to be growing comfortable with his role as a stand-up outside linebacker in defensive coordinator Vic Fangio's 3-4 scheme. He played 34 snaps in Sunday's game to tie Pernell McPhee and Lamarr Houston for the lead among all the Bears' outside linebackers, so he should continue to maintain a prominent role for the remainder of the season.

Young recorded his first sack of the season in Sunday's 18-17 win over the Chiefs.

EDGE Analysis

After an outstanding 10-sack season with the Bears in 2014, Young found himself on the roster bubble through most of training camp with the team transitioning to a 3-4 system that made the longtime down lineman an awkward scheme fit at outside linebacker. As a result, Young had seen limited snaps through the Bears' first four games while assuming a backup role, but he gradually seems to be getting a little more comfortable. Although it appears Lamarr Houston and Sam Acho will serve as the primary replacement for the recently-traded Jared Allen, Young will continue to rotate in off the bench in pass-rushing situations.
