Ballard (Achilles) is not participating in this week's OTA practices, the Indianapolis Star reports.

Ballard tore his Achilles last year during a late-July practice, forcing him out for a second consecutive season following tearing an ACL early in the 2013 season. It's hard to predict how he'll fit into the Indianapolis offense until he returns to practice.

The Indianapolis Star reports the Colts "aren't giving up" on Vick Ballard (Achilles', out for season), and that he'll get "another shot" in 2015.

We'll see. Ballard was already talent-deficient before injuries wiped out his 2013-14, and he'll be a 25-year-old former fifth-round pick come next July. Ballard has averaged 3.9 yards on 224 career carries. He has no Dynasty value.

An MRI confirmed Vick Ballard suffered a torn Achilles during Friday's practice.

He's done for the season. It's the second straight year-ending injury for Ballard after he missed all but one game of 2013 to ACL surgery. Ballard has one year remaining on his rookie deal and will attempt to return in 2015. The Colts haven't ruled out adding a veteran running back to replace Ballard on the active roster.

Vick Ballard (ACL) said he's been cleared.

Ballard tore his ACL during a practice ahead of Week 2 last season, so he's had significantly more rehab time than someone like Rob Gronkowski. Ballard expects to be on the field from Day 1 of training camp as he fights with Ahmad Bradshaw for reps behind Trent Richardson.

Colts RB Vick Ballard (knee) is on track for training camp.

Ballard didn't participate in offseason workouts and will open camp as the No. 3 running back behind Trent Richardson and Ahmad Bradshaw. He's reportedly close to 100 percent, but his effectiveness coming off a major injury is in question. Ballard is 10 months removed from September ACL surgery.
