Davis hauled in five receptions for 51 yards in Sunday's loss to the Cowboys.

EDGE Analysis

Davis looked like a version of his former self on Sunday, emerging as a viable wideout. He recorded a 32-yard reception to move Washington into the red zone, which led to a Jamison Crowder touchdown. With opposing defenses giving so much attention to fellow tight end Jordan Reed, Davis could continue to see an increase in targets, although don't expect Washington to abandon his role as a run blocker.

Davis recorded one reception for 20 yards in Monday's loss to the Steelers.

EDGE Analysis

The veteran tight end was on the field with the offense 33 percent of the time in Monday's loss. Washington figures to use of mix of their three tight ends, Jordan Reed, Niles Paul, and Davis, throughout the season. The 32-year-old's role on the team seems to be centered around run-blocking, meaning his fantasy value could fall as the season goes on.

Davis hauled in three receptions for 42 yards in Friday's preseason win over the Bills.

EDGE Analysis

Davis is expected to be utilized more as a blocking tight end in the Redskins offense, but showed flashes of pass-catching glory days on Friday night, which included a 22-yard reception. Head coach Jay Gruden announced that no starters will play in the preseason finale against the Buccaneers next Thursday, which could include the veteran Davis if they decide to give him extra rest.

Davis will likely contribute most as a run blocker in his first season with Washington. He said in an interview on Wednesday, "It's like since I've gotten here, I've just gotten better at the blocking game. I don't know what it is. That hasn't been the focal point to me. My focus has always been the passing game of course. But I try to go out there, be the best at everything."

EDGE Analysis

The 32-year-old veteran played 14 snaps in last Thursday's preseason loss to the Falcons, which included a dropped pass in the back of the end zone. Washington boosts impressive depth at tight end with Jordan Reed and Niles Paul, among others, meaning Davis's biggest impact will likely come in the run game. The longtime 49ers' star will continue to battle with Paul for the No. 2 spot on the depth chart in Friday's preseason tilt with the Jets.

Davis' one-year deal with Washington reportedly carries a base salary of $2.38 million, CSN Mid Atlantic reports.

EDGE Analysis

Moreover, $1.1 million of Davis' deal is guaranteed, which hints that the veteran tight end is virtually assured a roster spot with the team. That said, the 32-year-old Davis remains behind productive returnee Jordan Reed in the team's TE pecking order, though the report speculates that Davis could play "in excess of 25 snaps per game" when both players are available. In any case, after seeing Davis' fantasy value dip over the last two seasons, his chances of a bounce-back campaign appear limited so long as Reed (who caught 87 passes in 14 games last season) can stay on the field.

Davis has agreed to terms with Washington, Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports.

EDGE Analysis

Mostly a blocker at this stage in his career, the 32-year-old Davis will join his hometown team, likely on a one-year contract. Even if Jordan Reed were to suffer an injury, Niles Paul (ankle) would probably be ahead of Davis in the pecking order for targets. The veteran might even have to compete for a roster spot.

Davis is visiting with Washington on Thursday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

EDGE Analysis

With Jordan Reed locked in as Washington's top target in the passing game, Davis would likely be brought in to fill a complementary role that would largely revolve around blocking. Even if he finds a different home, it's hard to imagine the 32-year-old Davis regaining fantasy relevance at this stage in his career, as he has just 64 catches in 29 games over the past two seasons.

Davis caught 38 of 58 targets for 395 yards in 2015. He did not record a catch in the playoffs.

EDGE Analysis

Davis'ability to split the seam was supposed to add another dimension to Denver's offense. Instead, Davis showed a flash or two before failing to record a catch in any of Denver's final five games, including the playoffs. Davis caught six passes in Week 11 versus Chicago and seven passes in Week 14 versus Oakland. He dropped a pair of critical passes late against Oakland and the following week against Pittsburgh, potentially costing Denver both games. He never rebounded. Davis' past production will make him a tight end to look out for in 2016, but it likely won't be in Denver, with the team having an established veteran in Owen Daniels and two young players to develop in Virgil Green and Jeff Heuerman.

Davis did not see a pass come his way during Sunday's win over the Chargers.

EDGE Analysis

Make it back-to-back crucial games to end the season during which Davis was not targeted. Davis fell out of favor after making some critical drops in Weeks 14 and 15. Davis probably has a better chance to rebound with Brock Osweiler at quarterback than Peyton Manning, as Manning and Davis had less than two weeks of practice together before Manning went down with an injury, limiting his time to build chemistry with the veteran tight end.

Davis did not see a pass come his way in Monday's win over the Bengals.

EDGE Analysis

Davis saw the field for just five offensive plays during Monday's game, according to Pro Football Focus, 21 fewer than his next lowest total during Brock Osweiler's tenure at quarterback. The Broncos struggled to maintain possession early on and then switched to a hurry-up attack that, as head coach Gary Kubiak explained, favored Owen Daniels and Virgil Green - tight ends more familiar with Denver's scheme. Having two tight ends who are better versed in the offense is another obstacle Davis will have to face when it comes to seeing targets down the stretch as two critical drops over the past two weeks has no doubt already diminished some of Osweiler's confidence in him.
