Packers RG T.J. Lang was forced from Monday night's Week 9 game against the Bears with a concussion.

Lang was banged up in the first half. RT Don Barclay has shifted inside to right guard and Marshall Newhouse has entered at right tackle. On a short week, Lang will be hard pressed to make it back for Week 10 against Philadelphia.

Packers RT T.J. Lang (ankle) was a limited participant in Friday's practice and is officially questionable for Week 14.

While Lang participated in Friday's jogthrough, he didn't do a ton of work. ƒ?oI wasnƒ?Tt expecting him to practice. I donƒ?Tt have a feeling one way or the other,ƒ?? said coach Mike McCarthy. He also said the Packers prepared all week for undrafted rookie Don Barclay to start at right tackle, which could mean that Lang, if he convinces the medical and coaching staffs to let him play, may be headed back to left guard.

Packers RT T.J. Lang missed the final three and a half quarters of Sunday's game with a left ankle injury.

The injury is not believed to be serious. Undrafted rookie Don Barclay stepped in and did a bang-up job against the Vikings' front seven. In fact, the majority of the Packers' 152 rushing yards came on the right side behind Barclay and RG Josh Sitton. The coaching staff may opt to move Lang back to left guard and keep Barclay in the lineup.

Packers signed LG T.J. Lang to a four-year extension.

Lang beat out Derek Sherrod, the team's 2011 first-round pick, for the starting left guard last season and hasn't looked back. Pro Football Focus rated the 24-year-old as the 21st-best guard in the league last season, including a top-10 mark as a pass blocker. With Josh Sitton locked in on the right side, the Packers are set at guard for the long-term.

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel considers LG T.J. Lang and G/C Evan Dietrich-Smith the Packers' leading in-house candidates to replace C Scott Wells.

The most likely scenario is Lang moving to center with Dietrich-Smith taking over at left guard. Reserve/future signee Sampson Genus is a dark horse candidate. Wells, who signed with the Rams on Friday, had been the Packers' starting center since 2005.

Coach Mike McCarthy announced that T.J. Lang has won the Packers' left guard job.

Lang beat out No. 32 overall pick Derek Sherrod, whose mild knee sprain had nothing to do with the decision. "If you're talking about performance, T.J.'s performance grade was above Sherrod's," said McCarthy. The Packers boast one of the best and deepest offensive lines in the NFL. They will rarely need to keep Jermichael Finley in to block.

T.J. Lang appears to have overtaken first-round pick Derek Sherrod as the Packers' new starting left guard.

Line coach James Campen cited Lang's familiarity in the offense and says Sherrod "isn't playing as fast as he'd like to." According to Packers camp observers, Sherrod has looked more comfortable practicing at tackle, his college position. Regardless, the Packers easily project to field a top-ten line this season.
