Acho is listed as active for Sunday's matchup against the Jaguars.

EDGE Analysis

Acho figures to get the start at outside linebacker with Leonard Floyd (calf) inactive. Acho has yet to record five tackles in a game so far this season, but that could change Week 6.

Acho has agreed to a one-year contract with the Bears.

EDGE Analysis

Acho will remain in Chicago after posting 39 tackles in 15 games for the Bears last season. While the presence of fellow defenders Pernell McPhee, Lamarr Houston and Willie Young blocks Acho path to consistent snaps, his experience should add depth to the Bears' linebacking corp once again.

Acho finished the 2015 season with 39 tackles over 15 games.

EDGE Analysis

After being released by the Bears shortly after training camp, Acho quickly re-signed with the club and ended up playing in every game after the season opener. He made a few starts at outside linebacker down the stretch, but typically found himself in a rotation with Pernell McPhee, Willie Young, and Lamarr Houston. All three players showcased more pass-rushing ability than Acho, who failed to notch a single sack.

Acho (shoulder) is active for Sunday's game against the Redskins.

EDGE Analysis

Acho was a limited participant in practice all week, but the 27-year-old looks like he'll still be in line to start at one of the outside linebacker spots. Coach John Fox has been divvying up the snaps fairly evenly of late between Acho and backup linebackers Lamarr Houston and Willie Young, so expect the trio to all see around the same amount of field time while Pernell McPhee (knee) is sidelined Sunday.

Acho started Sunday's game against the Vikings and finished with four tackles in 55 snaps, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports.

EDGE Analysis

Meanwhile, last season's holdovers from the Marc Trestman regime, Willie Young and Lamarr Houston, finished with seven and four snaps, respectively at outside linebacker. It appears neither of those players are deemed appropriate fits for defensive coordinator Vic Fangio's 3-4 scheme, so look for Acho to continue to dominate the snaps at the linebacker spot opposite Pernell McPhee.

Acho was re-signed by the Bears on Monday, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports.

EDGE Analysis

Acho initially made the Bears' roster after a strong training camp, but was released just a day before the team's season-opening loss to the Packers. With defensive lineman Cornelius Washington suffering a quadriceps injury in the game and landing on injured reserve, the Bears elected to plug the open roster spot by bringing back Acho, who will fill a depth role at outside linebacker.

Acho missed Saturday's preseason loss to the Bengals due to an illness, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports.

EDGE Analysis

Though it's less than ideal for a non-roster lock to miss the all-important third exhibition, Acho should be on steady ground to break camp with the Bears after recording two sacks and an interception in the first two preseason games. He's expected to be one of the Bears' top backup options at outside linebacker behind Pernell McPhee and Jared Allen.

The Bears have signed Acho to a one-year deal, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Acho, who recorded 31 tackles and a sack in 16 games for the Cards in 2014, will bolster the Bears' outside linebacker corps. While he has displayed more of an aptitude as a run-stopper of late, Acho could provide Chicago with some pass-rushing help as well. As a rookie in 2011, he recorded seven sacks for Arizona.

ESPN Cardinals' reporter John Weinfuss believes OLB Sam Acho has lost his starting spot to OLB Matt Shaughnessy

Playing on a one-year, prove it deal, Shaughnessy was a revaluation last season, recording 36 tackles, three sacks, three fumble recoveries and seven pass breakups for the Cardinals. Shaugnessy decided to stay in Arizona instead of moving to New England this offseason. Perhaps the opportunity to start was a contributing factor in that decision. Acho has never recreated the form he showed his rookie season and will likely be a rotational player in 2014.
