The Titans are re-signing Folk to a one-year, $3.76 million contract Wednesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Folk enjoyed an excellent campaign with Tennessee last season, converting 29 of 30 field-goal attempts and 28 of 30 extra-point tries. The veteran is entering his age-39 season but remains one of the NFL's most reliable placekickers, so running it back on a one-year deal is a sensible move for the Titans. Folk's contract reportedly maxes out at $4.13 million with incentives.

Folk was traded to the Titans in August for a seventh-round pick. Though the team didn't have a successful season, Folk played his part, with his only missed field goal coming from 51 yards away in Week 10 against Tampa Bay. Folk will be entering his age 39 season, but he has made at least 90 percent of his field goals in three of his last four campaigns and should be able to find another job this offseason after hitting free agency.

Folk made his lone field-goal attempt in Sunday's 26-3 loss to the Texans. He did not attempt an extra point.

The Titans struggled to move the ball and had minimal scoring opportunities in Sunday's. As a result, Folk was only called upon once, though he did manage to convert. He's now been limited to one or fewer attempts in five of his last seven games.

Folk had a relatively quiet day but was effective when called upon. He made a 33-yard field goal late in the first half and has now made 28 of his 29 field-goal attempts this season. Folk was also perfect on his point-after attempts after missing one in two of his past three contests.

Folk made his only field-goal attempt and one of his two extra-point attempts in Sunday's 19-16 loss to the Texans.

Folk's day got off to a shaky start, as he missed an extra-point attempt midway through the first quarter which ultimately allowed the Texans to tie the game late with an extra-point rather than a two-point conversion. Though he couldn't make up for that miss, Folk did rebound with a 45-yard field goal midway through the fourth quarter. After remaining perfect through Week 9, Folk has missed one field goal and two extra-point attempts across his last six games.

Folk made both of his field-goal attempts and both of his extra-point attempts in Monday's 28-27 win over the Dolphins.

EDGE Analysis

Folk was only asked to convert from short range, as his field goals came from 28 and 23 yards away. He also made both of his extra point attempts, returning to perfection after missing his first kick of the season in Week 13. Folk has been an extremely reliable option for the Titans and has made multiple field goals in consecutive contests.

Folk made two of his three extra-point attempts and both of his field-goal attempts in Sunday's 31-28 overtime loss to the Colts.

EDGE Analysis

Folk has been excellent this season, as he entered Sunday's contest having missed only one field goal across 23 attempts while making all 17 extra-point attempts. He was mostly on target once again, though he missed a vital point-after attempt late in the fourth quarter that would have given the Titans a one-point lead. That miss was influenced by an injury to Ryan Stonehouse (knee), as his absence forced Ryan Tannehill into the game as the holder, and he went on to mishandle the snap on Folk's missed kick. Assuming the Titans resolve their situation at holder before their Week 14 matchup against the Dolphins, Folk should remain a reliable kicking option.

Folk wasn't called upon much, but he delivered a 53-yard field goal just before halftime to put the Titans up by two touchdowns. He's now made four of his five attempts from more than 50 yards away and is 22-for-23 on field goals this season.

Folk has been excellent for Tennessee throughout the season but was only asked to convert two extra-point attempts in Sunday's loss. In four games since the team's bye, Folk has attempted zero field goals on two occasions.

Folk missed a 51-yard field goal early in the second quarter, his first failed attempt of the season. Even so, he managed to account for the Titans' only points in the game by converting kicks from 38 and 27 yards. Folk has made multiple field goals in seven of nine games on the campaign.
